The 18-year-old teen queen is, of course, leaving her Disney show, "Sonny With a Chance," after three months of treatment at Illinois' Timberline Knolls for bulimia, cutting, and other emotional problems. Taking things a step further, the brunette will also be sitting down to talk with ABC's Robin Roberts on "20/20" Friday in the hopes that her experience will help others.
In the interview she reveals that life was a lot darker for the "Camp Rock" star than anyone thought. Demi even admits that she was cutting by age 11 as a way "of expressing my own shame, of myself, on my own body."
The actress also confesses that she wasn't taking care of herself on tour with her ex Joe Jonas and the Jonas Brothers, which led to her alleged physical confrontation with backup dancer Alex Welch.
