    • It's hard to believe, but the kids who were once raised on teen movie classics, like "The Breakfast Club" and "Sixteen Candles," are the ones behind the camera for the new flick, "Prom." As a tribute to the originals, audiences might see a few similarities.

Thomas McDonell and Aimee Teegarden star in "Prom." - Walt Disney Pictures

When omg! visited the Lakewood, California, set of the film, Producer Justin Springer even admitted some of the characters in "Prom" are named after characters from way back when. Recognize Lloyd, the guy described on the movie website as "that kid you see at graduation and realize you never talked to in all four years"? That's pretty similar to the guy John Cusack played in "Say Anything." Or Lucas, the "geek"? Yep, he's based loosely on the character Corey Haim played in "Lucas."

"Prom" was even shot primarily at John Burroughs Middle School in Los Angeles, one of the filming locations for "Pretty in Pink."

"[We're] definitely aiming for something that's real, just trying to stay away from the more candy-coated version of high

    • Cory Monteith clowns around on the NYC set of "Glee." - Lisa Mauceri/INFphoto.comThe "Glee" kids were snapped filming scenes in New York City on Monday -- and they clearly were having a blast. "Now it's time to get movin because my dream of shooting Glee in NYC is finally coming true!" tweeted "Glee" actress Lea Michele. "Hope u r ready NYC...Miss Rachel Berry is here!!"

So what are the McKinley High students doing in the Big Apple? Viewers who saw Rachel, Finn, Puck, and the rest perform "Empire State of Mind" in the season premiere will recall that the national show choir competition is taking place in none other than New York City. Will New Directions be able to triumph over Vocal Adrenaline?

While the Fox show is obviously remaining tight-lipped about the "Glee's" finale, the musical's makers ran into some problems recently when show extra Nicole Crowther gave a few secrets away. The actress, 21, revealed who will be crowned McKinley High's king and queen on Twitter. Show co-creator Brad Falchuk responded quite unkindly as did many Gleeks (via Twitter), forcing

    • Miranda Cosgrove will put college on hold. - Craig Barritt/WireImageTurns out, Miranda Cosgrove won't be going anywhere for college -- at least not yet. The "iCarly" star is deferring admission to both the University of Southern California (her dad's alma mater) and New York University so she can work on her show. As her rep tells the Los Angeles Times' Show Tracker blog, "She can't start in the fall due to her 'iCarly' production schedule, but she is really excited to go to college and plans to, she just isn't sure exactly when she will start."

Fans of the Nickelodeon series are probably thrilled that "iCarly" will continue for a fifth season. Those of us who thought Miranda might escape from Hollywood to enjoy some time as a normal kid, not so much. Just a month ago in The New York Times Magazine, the 17-year-old actress said, "It's weird for me. My friends are going through this thing of figuring out what they want to do with their lives. And I -- at this point, I think I know what I want. But if I go to college, I can figure it out for sure."

    • Newcomer Thomas McDonell stars as Jesse in the new movie "Prom." - Walt DisneyEvery girl remembers the sexy bad boy that she knew in high school. In the upcoming Disney movie, "Prom," newcomer Thomas McDonell fills just such a role. The long-haired hottie plays Jesse, the rule breaker in the group of students the flick follows leading up to the big event. Not surprisingly, Jesse doesn't have much interest in attending prom, but is forced to take part in organizing the big dance as punishment.

On the day omg! visited the "Prom" cast on its Long Beach, California, set, Thomas looked every bit the rebel while cruising on a motorcycle in his leather jacket. Although I don't want to give too much of the movie away, let's just say the chemistry between him and "Friday Night Lights" star Aimee Teegarden's character Nova is guaranteed to burn up the screen!
