Why Is ’90210′ Star Matt Lanter Talking About the Chicken Dance?

He survived a motorcycle accident, a kidnapping, and a seriously psycho ex-girlfriend on "90210," but it's wedding planning that has Matt Lanter freaking out.

The 30-year-old actor popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, Angela Stacy, last June with a 4.2-carat diamond sparkler. The pair plan to wed next month.

But, before they do, there are a few overwhelming details to iron out.

"We're trying to figure out all of this crazy stuff about bands and I had no idea that there are 10 different ways to fold a napkin," he told "omg! Insider" exclusively at the CW Upfront in New York City. "It's all these crazy details right now."

Still, Lanter is trying to be a hands-on groom and see the big picture through it all.

"I'm trying to help out as much as I can with my schedule," he said. "There's a lot of detail but you only do it one time, so you try to do it right."

One thing that will make it right: A total lack of the Chicken Dance.

"I think the Robot should be put away and probably not come out," he laughed. "Or the Twist or like the Chicken Dance – I think those need to stay away."

Well, that narrows it down a bit, but the star and his betrothed are still struggling to find that perfect track for their first dance.

"We are going through songs right now trying to figure out what we're going to do and what means something to us," he confessed, noting that they won't be hiring a chorographer to make the moment YouTube-ready. "We're probably just going to get out there and wing it. Who knows what kind of dances I may break into?"

During the series finale of "90210," Lanter and his co-star Shenae Grimes got engaged. In real life, Grimes married model Josh Beech earlier this month.

Lanter will remain a member of The CW family this winter when his mid-season show, "Star-Crossed," also starring Aimee Teegarden, premieres.
