T.I. and Lil Wayne (Getty Images)None of Lil Wayne's crew have spoken about their friend's health condition up until now, but according to his friend T.I., he's continuing to recover from his recent health scare at home. And at least one sign the singer is on the mend is that he's up for visitors.
"I was with him last night," T.I. tells "omg! Insider's" Nina Parker. "He is doing fine. We were actually watching the game and he's hoping the Lakers go to the finals."
Lil Wayne was hospitalized in L.A. last week after having a seizure. TMZ reported on Friday that the "Lollipop" rapper was being given "his last rites," which turned out to be completely false.
T.I. -- a close friend and frequent collaborator of Wayne's -- took to Twitter Friday night to express his disgust at such inaccurate reporting. Now, the "My Life" singer is explaining why he got so heated.
"Listen man, I'm all about doing what's right, and I don't have any personal beefs or conflicts with anyone," T.I. told Parker. "I'm just about doing what's right and when you put things out of such a graphic nature that are inaccurate, I think you then put children, mothers, families through unnecessary grief."
The rapper continued:
"And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that anybody is above the media, above paparazzi, gossip, but some things should be off limits and I mean just out of respect for children."
"Even if you don't respect this particular artist, out of respect of their children, out of respect of their mothers, the people who hurt the most when they hear this inaccurate story, that's when it really hits," T.I. explained. "That's what really got me hot."
"T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle," returns to air on VH1 Monday, April 8.
