While doing a satellite media tour on Monday ― her 21st birthday ― to promote her upcoming Stars Dance Tour, Gomez was probed about her off-again/on-again boyfriend Justin Bieber's recent bad-boy behavior, and apparently it wasn't a topic she felt like discussing: The interview came to a shrieking halt.
WGN-TV entertainment critic Dean Richards was among the outlets talking to Gomez during her media blitz. “You're, you know, probably as close a friend to Justin Bieber as they come," he said. "Is there something about him that we don't get or we don't understand? I mean, there is one story after another of, you know, pretty outrageous behavior that we're reading about.”
At first the "Come & Get It" singer looked down uncomfortably ― almost as if she were wishing away the awkward situation ― and then she smiled to someone off-camera. Despite Gomez's obvious hesitation, Richards pressed on, following with, “What don't we get about him or what is it that he's not getting out there?”

A rep for Gomez has not yet responded to omg!'s request for comment, so it's unclear whether the disconnection was intentional or if it was some type of glitch (the latter of which occasionally happens during satellite tours). The timing, though, seems to indicate it was no accident.
Meanwhile, an old interview with Bieber has surfaced that should give fans of the former couple some hope for another reconciliation. During a 2009 sit-down with KIIS-FM ― before he started dating Gomez (and back when he wore shirts!) ― the Canadian singer was asked to name his celebrity crush.
"Selena Gomez," he quickly replied, before adding, "No one heard that. Keep that on the DL."
Their relationship was a long time in the making, apparently, and we suspect there will be many more chapters ... whether Gomez wants to discuss them or not.
Selena is known for being a good girl, but she's had her share of bad-girl moments. Take a look:
