Report: Emma Roberts Arrested for Domestic Violence

Emma Roberts has a good-girl reputation.

But that rep might be a thing of the past now that TMZ has reported that the 22-year-old actress was arrested for domestic violence on July 7 in Montreal, Canada.

Roberts's rep did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The website claims that Roberts, the niece of A-lister Julia Roberts and the daughter of actor Eric Roberts, had an altercation with her boyfriend, 26-year-old "American Horror Story" actor Evan Peters, in a hotel room.

Someone from a nearby room called police to complain about a fight. When cops arrived, they reportedly found Peters with a bloody nose.

People described as "sources close to Emma" said that the two were hitting each other and that Roberts was arrested because Peters was the one who was visibly injured. He decided not to press charges.

The Montreal Police Department confirmed to "omg! Insider" that there was an altercation in a Montreal hotel room sometime last week and that one of the parties was arrested, but since the charges were dropped, the person in question was released. An officer explained that in Canada, if charges are dropped, they are not allowed to release the names or any information about the parties involved in the dispute.

The two began dating in the spring of 2012, and appeared on the red carpet together for the first time at a Golden Globes afterparty in January.
