New Reese Witherspoon Arrest Footage Surfaces — and She Gives Quite the Performance

Typically calm, cool, and collected in public, Reese Witherspoon put on quite a show when she was arrested for disorderly conduct last month.

New footage of the 37-year-old actress and her husband's joint arrests on April 19 hit the web -- taken from the dashboard camera of the Atlanta police cruiser -- and it plays out like a bad movie. While her husband, talent agent Jim Toth, is in front of the vehicle going through a sobriety check, the mom of three gets out of the couple's silver 2013 Ford Focus multiple times, ranting at the officer until she ends up in handcuffs herself.

In addition to her now-infamous "Do you know my name sir?" and "You're about to find out who I am" comments, the actress, known for her squeaky-clean reputation, says things like "I'm an American citizen -- I'm allowed to stand on American ground and ask any question I want to ask," "You better not arrest me," and "I'm obstructing your justice?" in the footage obtained by "omg! Insider."

The officer tells Witherspoon repeatedly to get back into her vehicle and wait, but she simply wouldn't. At one point, as the "Mud" star -- who previously admitted she had too much to drink that night -- apparently climbed out of the car again, she used the made up excuse, "I'm pregnant and I need to use the restroom."

Toth, whom the officer described as disheveled and smelling of alcohol in his police report, is quiet during the incident and tries to calm down his wife during her tirade.

"Reese, can you please stop?" Toth says. And then, "Reese. Reese. Reese. Relax."

After many warnings, Witherspoon is handcuffed and put in the police car. The officer then returns to Toth outside the vehicle and says, "I tried [not to arrest her]." Witherspoon's husband -- who was ultimately arrested himself for driving under the influence and failure to maintain the lane -- replies, "I'm sorry. I had nothing to do with that."

The footage surfaced on Thursday -- the same day Witherspoon and Toth entered pleas to resolve their respective legal matters in Atlanta court. The star did not appear in front of the judge, but her attorney pled no contest on her behalf to the disorderly conduct charge, and she was given a $213 fine.

Meanwhile Toth, 41, was in court and he did not get off as easy. He pled guilty to DUI and while he doesn't face jail time, he was sentenced to 40 hours of community service, alcohol counseling, and was given a year of probation.

Also on Thursday, Witherspoon gave her first post-arrest interview to "Good Morning America," taking full responsibility for the incident and admitting she said "all kinds of crazy things" to the arresting officer.

“We went out to dinner in Atlanta and we had one too many glasses of wine,” she said on the morning show. “We thought we were fine to drive and we absolutely were not. We know better and we shouldn’t have done that. It’s just completely unacceptable and we are so sorry and embarrassed ... I think we made a mistake and it was something that will absolutely never happen again.”

This is the second arrest video to surface -- footage of the actress being led into the police station hit the Internet last month.
