Peachy! Chrissy Teigen's Super Mario-Themed 28th Birthday Bash

Chrissy Teigen's 28th birthday was straight out of a fantasy … a Nintendo fantasy to be exact!

The model and her singer hubby, John Legend, rang in Teigen's 28th year with an intimate Super Mario-themed party.

Taking the theme rather seriously, Legend, 34, and his lady showed up for the soiree dressed in head-to-toe Super Mario and Princess Peach costumes — with the model tweeting "AHERE WE GO #nintendobirthday" while en route to the event, which was held at a space in West Hollywood, California, that was decorated to resemble the Mushroom Kingdom come to life.

When they arrived, the singer was clearly very proud of his getup (padded belly and all), making a solo entrance ahead of the birthday princess, and received his own round of applause.

But once inside, Mario John was all about making sure the birthday girl had a great time. The duo posed for photos in the Mushroom Kingdom photo booth, which was stocked with additional costumes and props for all of Teigen's guests. "Parks and Recreation" actor Ben Schwartz had a particularly good time impersonating Luigi.

After Legend presented Chrissy with her Nintendo-themed cake (what else?!), Teigen took the mic, thanking her friends and family for attending "the weirdest party ever." Despite her jokes, the "Sports Illustrated" model, who was sporting none of the bruises she incurred while filming her hilarious model-fight for Rampage's Black Friday commercial, definitely enjoyed herself. Clearly still in the honeymoon phase, the newly married pair canoodled openly throughout the night.

And, at one point, Legend proved he literally has his girl's back. Midway through the bash, Teigen decided to change out of her massive pink hoop skirt and into something a little more … well, skimpy. The model's mother dutifully shimmied a tiny hot pink skirt up her legs for her, but when Chrissy dropped her hoop and began to twirl in her much-more revealing number, she didn't realize just how revealing it was! Part of the mini was tucked into the model's underwear, revealing her bum to the crowd. Oops! Teigen didn't notice, but Legend did, and immediately jumped up to cover up his wife's bare behind!

The model was joined by her parents and close friends, like DJ Dillon Francis and "The Best Man Holiday" star Sanaa Lathan, who played Super Mario 3D World on big screens while sipping on their choice of signature cocktails like the Princess Peach Bellini and Mario Power-Up, and nibbling on open-faced mini hamburgers, grilled cheese with tomato soup dippers, mini shrimp po' boys, fried oreos, and of course, birthday cake!
