Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder’s Awkward Reunion

Talk about uncomfortable.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder reunited on Thursday in New York City for The CW Upfront event just one week after the news broke that "The Vampire Diaries" co-stars ended their three-year relationship.

The former couple walked the red carpet far apart and sources tell omg! "there was a palpable awkwardness" when they appeared onstage together. Dobrev, 24, and Somerhalder, 34, joined network president Mark Pedowitz, who stood in between the exes during the presentation.

Dobrev walked off the stage first while Somerhalder trailed behind her a few paces, and sources say the two "didn't make eye contact once."

Following their business obligation, Dobrev and Somerhalder went their separate ways. The actress has been posting photos with girlfriends around New York City, while her ex appears to be hanging solo.

Later Thursday night at The CW bash, sources tell omg! that Dobrev and Somerhalder "kept their distance and avoided one another."

Considering their breakup is still very fresh, it should come as no surprise that today's run in was a bit awkward. However, show sources tell omg! the cast and crew is confident there won't be any tension on set when production on "The Vampire Diaries" starts back up this summer.
