Miley: ‘I’m the Happiest I’ve Ever Been’ Since Split From Liam

What a difference three weeks can make — just ask Miley Cyrus.

Since the announcement of her broken engagement from Liam Hemsworth, the 20-year-old got into a social media battle with her former inspiration Sinead O'Connor, hosted "Saturday Night Live," told Matt Lauer he was too old to have sex, and released "Bangerz," which has become nothing short of a worldwide sensation.

But none of that means that people have forgotten that she and Liam broke up! (Duh.) Fortunately, Miley stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" where the host felt obliged to ask all about it. After all, Ellen did give her an "engagement party" last time the star dropped in.

"So, the last time you were here, I threw you an engagement party," Ellen chirped as she showed a clip of Miley being accosted by male strippers. (Which just reminded us of how people danced in the old days ... before twerking.

"Do you want your money back?" Miley asked with a smile before adding, "I should have kept one of those dudes' numbers."

Ellen then got down to it, asking point-blank if it was "awkward" for Miley now that she's not with Liam.

"It’s not really as awkward because I’m living it," Miley said without skipping a beat. "I think people spend more time actually thinking about it than I really do. I just believe when a chapter is done you have to close it and start that new one. That's kind of where I am right now. I felt like I have so much to be thankful for at this time that my energy hasn't really been focused on that."

Miley went on to claim that she's been "impressed with people" for respecting her privacy and focusing on her music. "That's the only thing I worried about — I didn't want it to make me to sacrifice what I've been working for, for just the attention to be on that."

Ellen nodded and asked how much, if anything, on "Bangerz" is related to her ex-fiancé.

"The whole album is a story of that," Miley shared. "I think it says that with starting with 'Adore You' and ending with 'Someone Else.' I feel like you can really find like this arc of growth." Though she was quick to admit she didn't see it that way at the time. "I didn’t even know … until I really listened to it now that it’s done," she said. "I’m like this is really like telling a story. I think I knew more intuitively where my life was going then I actually thought I did at the time."

Miley also happily confirmed that she's had no contact with Liam since the split. "I really haven’t gotten to see anyone right now," she stated. "I’m just letting that chapter kind of close and just looking forward to that new one."

But she wasn't done yet. "I keep saying I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and that’s not even a dig. That’s just me because I really am genuinely happy finally with myself, which I think sometimes it takes you separating yourself from someone else to really be happy with who you are. I’ve never been able to just be alone and I’m obsessed with being alone and like hearing my thoughts."

So are we, Miley. So are we.
