Lindsay Lohan Was Not Aware She Owed Former Lawyer $150k: Report

Lindsay Lohan doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to paying her bills – after all she owes money to the IRS for years worth of back taxes – so, it’s no surprise she has $150,000 in legal bills.

Her excuse? The “Liz & Dick” actress apparently had no clue she owed so much to her now-former attorney, Shawn Holley, who had not been paid in about six months. But now that she’s aware of the outstanding bill, she has instructed her business manager to pay it off, reports TMZ.

Holley has certainly worked hard for her money. She has represented the trouble-prone actress at least 15 times in court since 2010… yes, 15 times. Holley’s last appearance was on January 15 when she entered a not guilty plea for Lohan, who was partying in London, in her case for lying to police.

Since then, Lohan has replaced Holley with New York-based Mark Jay Heller, who isn’t even licensed in California. When he represented the 26-year-old in a pre-trial hearing on January 30, his behavior was comparable to Joe Pesci’s character in “My Cousin Vinny.”

After telling Judge Stephanie Sautner that Lohan flew cross-country against her doctor’s orders “out of respect for the court,” he then tried to butter up the honorable judge by bringing up that like herself, he is a New York native, so therefore, “It (was) a great honor to appear before you” – to which she cut him off. “Flattery doesn’t get you anywhere.”

Lohan doesn’t seem too keen on him either. She reportedly is begging Holley to come back on as her lawyer (her trial begins March 18 in Santa Monica, California) … but so far, Holley isn’t interested.

Maybe she will be after she gets paid for the work she’s already done?
