Two weeks ago, Kelly Osbourne confirmed the rumors that she had gotten engaged to her vegan chef boyfriend, Matthew Mosshart. While many were thrilled for the 28-year-old "Fashion Police" star, others remained unimpressed, not because they don't like her choice in men, but because they were convinced this was actually old news.
And they were right.
With her mother Sharon by her side, the lavender-locked beauty admitted on The Talk that Mosshart had, in fact, popped the question last December. That's seven months ago — a lifetime by Hollywood standards.
Rumors began swirling back in January, but Osbourne vehemently denied them, even tweeting, "#DontBelieveEverythingYouRead." Guess she feels that way even when it turns out to be true.
But why all the secrecy?
"I realized very quickly that, in Hollywood, people don't realize that you get married for love. They think that you get married for attention," she sighed. "I don't want to do a reality show. I've already done that. Every morning we wake up to another email; it's like, 'an offer you cannot refuse.' I can refuse that. I don't want to be on another reality show. I'm fine now, thank you."
And she certainly has her mother's blessing. Asked how she felt about her daughter's pending nuptials, Sharon declared, "I'm like, 'Yeah! More grandbabies!'"
Kelly looked only mildly mortified as she mumbled, "Thanks, Mom." But hey, when you publicly deny your engagement for half a year, we think your mom gets the right to get a little excited when you finally come clean.
