Justin Timberlake: ‘I’m Ready’ to Release New Music

For years, fans have been begging Justin Timberlake to put aside his acting career and get back to what he arguably does best: making music.

And today, he’s finally listening!

On Thursday at 9 a.m. PT, the "Social Network" actor revealed "I'm ready" to put out new music in a video he posted on his Website.
"It means more to me than anyone else in the world," he says in a voice-over as Timberlake is shown walking around. Adding that it took him 10 years to put out is first two albums, he asks, "What does the next decade mean for me? I’m the one who is obsessive about it before you hear it ... I don’t want to put out anything else that I don’t love … you have to wait for it."

As he's shown entering a recording studio, he ends with: "I’m ready."

After the video ends, a countdown begins for just a little more than three days from now.

After it was rumored that Timberlake was going to make a big announcement about his music career on Thursday, Billboard.com reported that he is releasing a full-length album with longtime collaborator, producer Timbaland. Sources tell the music site that he has already recorded 20 new tracks.

Timberlake may also be working with Beyonce in the near future. In her February interview with GQ, which hit the Internet early on Wednesday after the racy cover leaked online, she revealed that she would be working with Timberlake and Pharrell Williams on her next album because “We all started in the '90s, when R&B was the most important genre, and we all kind of want that back: the feeling that music gave us."

The new album will be the first recorded music the 31-year-old has released since he appeared on Jamie Foxx’s 2010 song, “Winner” – of course, aside from his work in 2011 with Andy Samberg’s comedic music group, Lonely Island, on such memorable tracks as “Mother Lover.”

At his October wedding to Jessica Biel, Timberlake performed an original song as a gift for his new bride, but no details – not even its title – were ever released.

After his monster success with boy band *NSYNC, Timberlake went on to find even more as a solo artist. His 2002 debut album, Justified, sold 9.5 million copies worldwide, while its follow-up, 2006’s Future Sex/Love Sounds, hit another 10 million internationally.

Are you excited about JT's big announcement? Or do you think he may have lost a bit of his music mojo over the years?
