‘Jersey Shore’ Boardwalk Ablaze: Cast Sends Well Wishes

The Jersey Shore boardwalk where we met Snooki, JWoww, and the rest of the gang is in peril.

A fire ripped through the collection of souvenir shops, which includes the Shore Store where the cast "worked," bars where they partied, and other businesses on Thursday. Sadly, much of the damaged area was also affected by last fall's devastating Hurricane Sandy.

The blaze began at Kohr's Frozen Custard shop in nearby Seaside Park, New Jersey, and quickly began to spread. Firefighters arrived on the scene about 2:30 p.m., but were unable to keep it from engulfing several blocks and dozens of structures at last count, due to high winds. Several firefighters and residents were already being treated for smoke inhalation, and areas as far as six blocks out from the fire were being evacuated, according to New Jersey's Star Ledger.

As firefighters fought back flames, the cast of the MTV show and others sent well wishes to the people in the resort town.
