Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli Finalize Divorce … in a Very Un-Hollywood Way
Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli’s split had all the makings of a nasty divorce.
Garth, the 40-year-old star best known for starring in the '90s series "Beverly Hills, 90210," and "Twilight's" Peter Facinelli, 39, were both well known when they announced they split in March 2012. Rumors swirled that there had been an affair, and Garth was more than willing to talk to anyone who would listen about how devastated she was about losing her husband of 11 years.
But, according to TMZ, the two decided to act in a distinctly un-Hollywood way and play nice. The couple finalized their divorce on Tuesday with generous terms.
For starters, neither party sought spousal report.
And they agreed to split custody of their three daughters – 15-year-old Luca Bella, 10-year-old Lola Ray, and 6-year-old Fiona Eve down the middle without any formal agreement. Both will contribute to a bank account for the girls.
Since the breakup, Garth has had what she's described as a "rebirth," losing 30 pounds and improving her mental state, which surely contributed to the peaceful settlement.
"This threw me for a loop," she revealed in an episode of her reality show "Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country" last year. "It's weird and sad, but I really realized through this whole experience how much I loved him, how deeply I loved him and how deeply I loved us."
Garth has since found love with Jeremy Salken, a drummer for the electronica act Big Gigantic. Her now ex-husband is dating actress Jaimie Alexander.
