Jack Osbourne’s Family Suffers Devastating Loss

Jack Osbourne may be gearing up for the bright lights and glitter of "Dancing With the Stars," but his family is in the middle of something decidedly more tragic.

His wife, Lisa Stelly, announced that she recently had a late-term miscarriage.

"I have been dreading this announcement," she wrote in a Raddest Mom blog post titled "Unfortunate Announcement." "I needed some time before being able to say it. Jack and I lost our baby boy last week."

The couple, who first became parents when they welcomed daughter Pearl Clementine in April 2012, announced that they were expecting just last month. "Jack and I are super excited," she wrote at the time. "It's crazy to think we will soon be a family of four!"

Not surprisingly, Jack and Lisa are devastated about the loss.

"Having a late term miscarriage is by far the hardest thing either of us have ever had to go through," Lisa admitted. "We appreciate all of your prayers and ask for privacy and respect during this time. It’s important to stay hopeful and optimistic through life’s toughest moments. We never know why things like this happen. All we can do is trust in God and know he has a plan for our lives."

This isn't the first bump in the road for the pair, who tied the knot in Hawaii in October 2012. In June 2012 – just two months after Pearl's birth – Jack was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. The reality star has said that parenthood helped him deal with such a difficult discovery.

"When you get news like MS, it's a bit of a buzzkill," he said on his mom Sharon Osbourne's show "The Talk." "But having a baby is forcing me to focus on just that and my work, so it takes the sting away a little bit."

Our hearts go out to the whole Osbourne family.

Jack will be back on TV on September 16 when he teams up with Cheryl Burke for the 17th season of "Dancing With the Stars."
