May the odds be ever in your … tattoo?
Fashion model Ireland Baldwin leapt into adulthood, turning 18 this past Wednesday, and the daughter of Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin wasted no time asserting herself as a full-fledged grown-up. Not only did she fly the coop by moving into her own L.A. beach house but she also marked her legality with fresh ink.
First sharing a photo of herself at the tattoo parlor on her Instagram, the selfie star then tweeted a pic with her new ink: an arrow on the upper left side of her arm.
Her inspiration? We can't be sure – a rep for the blond bombshell declined to comment – but we immediately were reminded of Ireland's love of "The Hunger Games" and couldn't help but wonder if Katniss Everdeen was her muse. We weren't alone in this – one Instagram user commented on her pic, "very Katniss #katnisschronicles hunger games."

The rising starlet hasn't been shy about being a "Hunger Games" groupie. After attending the Los Angeles premiere of the first film with her uncle Stephen Baldwin and cousins Alaia and Hailey, the stunner tweeted, "Hunger Games was incredible. #happy."
The next morning, her feelings were even stronger. "I would give anything to be in the Hunger Games sequel! I dreamt about it all night long!" she declared.
Paired with her tattoo-baring selfie, she shared the symbolism behind her new arrow – "ambition, drive and perspective" – only one of which really reminds us of Katniss. The character, played by Jennifer Lawrence in the films, may be driven, but we wouldn't exactly say she's ambitious or someone with great perspective. Ireland also retweeted a quote that elaborated the encouraging meaning embedded in the image:

For a gal who loves to pose, we also have to wonder if the prominent mark might catch fire considering her future as a model. Will her arm's showy ink have an effect on her career?
Regardless of the tat's inspiration, we certainly hope the odds are in her favor.
