The 56-year-old talk show host became engaged to her beau of nearly two years, John Molner, over the holiday, omg! has confirmed.
The 50-year-old financier, who is a partner at investment firm Brown Brothers Harriman, popped the question during the couple's weekend getaway in The Hamptons. The proposal took place on the beach at sunset.
"Yes it's true!" Couric tweeted on Tuesday morning. "So touched by all the kind Tweets & warm wishes-thank you! A great end to the summer."
The bride-to-be's two daughters were on hand to celebrate their mom's special news. On Monday, Couric Instagramed a photo of herself with Ellie, 21, and Carrie, 17, together on the beach. The "Katie" host's hand is obscured so we can't see the diamond, which People magazine describes as "spectacular," but she and the girls are beaming.

This will be the second marriage for Couric, whose first husband, Jay Monahan, died from colon cancer in 1998. She has had several long-term boyfriends over the years, but her relationship with Molner had her thinking about remarrying.
One year ago, Couric told Parade she would consider another trip down the aisle, saying, "I would like to. I’m the marrying kind, even though I’ve only been married once. I like the idea of having a life partner. I’m very traditional in many ways."
Look for Couric to debut her ring on "Katie" when the daytime talk show returns for a second season on September 9.
