Like any good houseguest, Jennifer Aniston doesn't show up empty-handed when arrives on a friend's doorstep. However, the actress's signature hostess gift is so unusual that she's worried her friends are growing weary of it.
During an appearance on Wednesday's "Chelsea Lately," the "We're the Millers" star, 44, was eager to talk about her much-discussed chicken coop, which is a decidedly peculiar amenity on the posh $21 million Bel Air property she purchased in 2012. The chickens came from the previous homeowner, but she and her fiancé, Justin Theroux, 41, kept them and upgraded their feathery digs as part of a massive home renovation.
"I'm not raising them. We inherited them," Aniston corrected Chelsea Handler when they started chatting about them. "Well, I guess we are keeping them alive ... Thank god."
Not knowing much about the clucky birds — they are largely tended to by Aniston's groundskeeper — she said she and Theroux do go to the coop to collect eggs. And there are a lot of them!

"In the summertime, they lay double the amount. I don't know why," she said. "We have so many eggs. [Our friends] are getting so sick of getting eggs. It's like, 'Here, we didn't bring wine, but we brought a carton of eggs!'"

Aniston then suggested maybe her A-list inner circle was getting a little tired of her "gift."
"People are like, 'Enough, we'd like a bottle of wine," she laughed.
If luxury accommodations play a big factor in producing great eggs, then the couple definitely has them! Photos of the extensive coop, which is near the guest house on the 3.5-acre property, first hit the web in June, and showed that the animals have quite a bit of room to roam, squawk, peck, and, well, produce hostess gifts.
They even provide companionship — and amusement.
"They're very social animals, and they like it when you visit them with a cup of coffee in your hand," she said in a previous interview. “According to my groundskeeper, they love pasta.”
