Fashion Faceoff: Katy Perry vs. John Mayer in Christmas Sweaters

We thought the only thing that lovebirds Katy Perry and John Mayer liked more than each other was music. But they also happen to have a thing for holiday sweaters. Let's size up the competitors…

What they wore: Warm and festive Christmas sweaters, although Perry's piece was actually a sweater coat by Dolce & Gabbana.

When they wore it: Perry, 28, donned the designer garment as she and Mayer, 35, stepped out for a December 12 performance of "A Christmas Story: The Musical" on Broadway, while Mayer sported his when he made an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in December 2009.

How they styled it: She wore her sweater over black bottoms and with big earrings. Mayer rocked his over a white collared shirt and with dark red pants.

Judge's scorecard: The "Wide Awake" singer's sweater is busy, yes, but it makes a great ugly Christmas sweater! She also wins major props for standing next to Santa, because it's tough to get more into the holiday spirit than that. On the other hand, Mayer manages to look both preppy (good) and slightly dorky (bad) at the same time in his wintry wardrobe item. Who do you think should win today's Fashion Faceoff?
