Exclusive: Miranda Lambert on Beyoncé Lip-Sync: ‘She Can Do Whatever the Hell She Wants!’

Country superstar Miranda Lambert is a protector of animals … and Beyoncé!

While the world was busy debating whether Knowles lip-synched the national anthem during yesterday’s Presidential Inauguration, Lambert kicked off the national search for the next communities to benefit from The Pedigree Feeding Project, an initiative designed to help animal shelters nationwide.

omg! caught up with the Grammy winner at the event today and she had nothing but praise for Knowles and fellow inaugural performer (and friend) Kelly Clarkson.

“I would love to sing with Kelly Clarkson if I ever get the guts — she’s amazing,” Lambert raved when omg! asked which artists she would like to collaborate with in the future. “I sang with her onstage in Colorado and she was, I just wanted to crawl in a hole. I’m also a huge fan of Beyoncé and Pink. I saw Kelly’s Twitter and she was hanging out with Beyoncé at [the inauguration], I was like ‘Really? My two favorite girls?’”

So what does the “Over You” singer think about the fact Beyoncé may have lip-synced her way through yesterday’s performance?

“I don’t think it matters,” Lambert told omg!. “It’s Beyoncé, She can do whatever the hell she wants!”

But today wasn’t just about Beyoncé: it was about the dogs, too!

At the kickoff event Lambert gushed about how proud she was to be part of The Pedigree Feeding Project.

“It’s perfect for me,”she said. “I don’t really get involved in a lot of things that don’t fit me. I can’t sell it if I don’t believe it. I practice what I preach.“

“I’ve had animals forever and have been rescuing dogs since I was born—living in the country they just kind of find you!” laughed Blake Shelton’s better half. “I just think it’s cool that they are going to be drawing so much awareness to shelters all across the country. It’s going to open people’s eyes.”
