Dr. Ben Affleck? Star to Receive Honorary Doctorate from Brown University

Just call him Doc. After winning a huge string of awards for "Argo," Ben Affleck is about to get a whole new title.

Brown University has announced that the Oscar winner is set to receive an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts degree at the school's commencement ceremony on May 26.

While Affleck, 40, won't be speaking at the ceremony, he is in esteemed company. The other five recipients of honorary doctorate degrees are author and editor Junot Diaz, bacteriologist Stanley Falkow, Tougaloo College President Beverly Wade Hogan, physician and foundation president Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, and Miami Dade College President Eduardo Padron.

As for his real education, Affleck majored in Middle Eastern studies at Occidental College in Los Angeles after transferring from the University of Vermont. He dropped out of college after a total of four semesters.

In the meantime, Affleck will be taking the Live Below the Line challenge next week, wherein he'll live on $1.50 a day for five days in order to raise money and awareness for The Global Poverty Project.
