Charlie Sheen Helps Pay for Lindsay Lohan’s Fashion Week Gown

Charlie Sheen clearly has a soft spot in his heart for Lindsay Lohan. The 47-year-old has – yet again – come to the troubled starlet’s rescue.

After paying $100,000 towards Lohan’s overdue tax bill last fall, Sheen has now picked up half the cost of the dress she recently wore to a Fashion Week amfAR gala, Us Weekly is reporting.

"Never in a business like this do you see a celebrity pay for another celebrity," stylist Peter Bloch tells the mag of Sheen’s personal request to go “halfsies” on the gown. "He's very considerate."

The embattled “Liz & Dick” actress certainly didn’t waste the funds and looked actually, well, good, when she attended the AIDS research charity function in a beaded beige Theia Spring 2011 frock.

But based on Lohan’s reaction – or lack thereof – to the former “Two and a Half Men” star’s first “donation,” it’s surprising that Sheen, who befriended the 26-year-old when the two shot “Scary Movie 5” together last year, actually decided to help her again. “I’m still waiting for a text to say ‘thank you,’” he told “Entertainment Tonight” last year, shortly after he paid the tax bill. “Anything, you know?”

Sheen’s been on a sort of giving spree lately. Last month he wrote a check for $12,000 to help cover the funeral expenses of the paparazzo who was struck and killed by a car on New Year’s Day while trying to get a shot of Justin Bieber’s Ferrari. In December, the dad-of-five handed over a generous $75,000 for medical expenses of a California police officer’s daughter battling a rare form of cancer. But perhaps his biggest donation yet stemmed from his July 2012 announcement that he’d be donating at least 1 percent of the profits (or at least $1 million) from his new FX show “Anger Management” to the USO, a non-profit troops support services group. He made his first installment of $250,000 a short time later.

As for what has prompted his recent spurt of kindness, Sheen's rep told omg! last month that the actor has "always has made contributions to charities and the needy," and has chosen these particular people to help because "he became aware of their misfortune."

But instead of helping Lohan pay for a dress to parade down the red carpet in, maybe his efforts would be better directed towards trying to help the former child star clean up her act … or at least answer the phone when her lawyer calls.

One of Lohan’s attorneys recently filed court papers claiming she can’t get in touch with her famous client, who is supposed to be sitting for a deposition stemming from a lawsuit filed by a photographer who alleges that Lohan’s assistant hit him with a car outside of a Hollywood nightclub back in 2010. "I have made many efforts to convince Lohan to appear for her deposition,” Julia Azrael wrote in the filing this week. “I do not know how to reach her directly."

Maybe she should try Charlie!
