Betty White’s 91st Birthday Present? A Snake!

Betty White has never been your average 90-year-old. And now that she just turned a year older she’s proving she’s not your average 91-year-old either. After all, how many members of the senior citizen community get snakes on their birthdays?

Yep, you heard that right. Everybody’s favorite foul-mouthed nonagenarian is now the proud parent of a boa constrictor named Jacob.

According to People, a secondary market life insurance company called The Lifeline Program, for which White is a spokesperson, adopted little Jacob from the L.A. Zoo in White’s name.

"Jacob the boa constrictor is good as gold and cuddles in my arms," she said in a statement, "and around my neck."

And the White has had her pal around her neck before. The two starred together in her hilarious 2011 video with musician Luciana for the tune "I'm Still Hot.” (He’s the reptile with her in the above photo.)

The TV actress has been a longtime animal advocate, so if you’re looking to get her the perfect present, well, she’s got something other than a snake in mind.

“Since a girl like me already has more than I could hope for, I'm asking fellow animal lovers for a special birthday gift this year,” she wrote on a Huffington Post blog. “To help celebrate my 91st birthday on January 17, please help me raise $10,000 for Morris Animal Foundation.”

The Morris Animal Foundation is a nonprofit organization that invests in science that advances veterinary care for companion animals, horses, and wildlife, and Betty wants to make sure you realize just how much she’d appreciate a donation, writing the gesture “would make a golden girl like me very happy!”

How can we refuse?
