The 33-year-old actor just signed a deal to pen a series of children's books called "Nightmares!" for Random House imprint Delacorte Press Books For Young Readers. The first book of the trilogy is set to hit shelves in fall 2014.

Of course, this isn't the first time the "How I Met Your Mother" star has put pen to paper in order to entertain us. He wrote -- and starred in -- "The Muppets," "The Five-Year Engagement," and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," after all.

While soap operas have traditionally been mocked for their ridiculous story lines and bad acting, in reality it's quite a difficult genre (have you ever seen how many pages of dialogue they have to learn on a daily basis?!) where many of Hollywood's biggest stars have gotten their big breaks.

Before hitting the big screen in "Ghost" and "G.I. Jane," Demi Moore was honing her acting skills on the small screen, playing Jackie Templeton, a reporter on "General Hospital" in the early '80s.

Julianne Moore, Meg Ryan, and Marisa Tomei also spent part of the '80s perfecting their craft on "As the World Turns." Julianne played a dual roles as half-sisters Frannie and Sabrina Hughes, while Meg portrayed Betsy Stewart, and Marisa played Marcy Thompson.

Ryan Philippe joined the soap scene in 1992 as "One Life to Live's" Billy Douglas, the first gay teen on daytime television. He then started landing roles in such films as "White Squall" (1996), "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (1997), and "Cruel Intentions" (1999).

Chez Mariah Carey was hopping on Tuesday as the "American Idol" judge hosted a popcorn and pajama party for her twins.

It was sitting room only in the 43-year-old's bed as she snuggled in with Moroccan and Monroe, who will turn 2 next month, for movie night. Outfitted in matching jammies, they snacked on popcorn while they waited to start a movie.

“Hurry up Daddy! Ms Monroe, Roc Starr & Mommy Mimi wait patiently,” Carey tweeted, along with this cute pic of them in bed.

She later posted a photo of "daddy" -- better known as Nick Cannon. In it, the "America's Got Talent" host is holding Roc, and of course

The Webbys, in case you're not familiar, are the Internet's most prestigious honor (it's kind of like the Oscars for the online crowd). And while omg! is honored just to be nominated (as we say in Hollywood), it really is more fun to win.

Schwing! The "Wayne's World" cast has reunited! The gang from the '90s cult classic comedy was "partying on" Tuesday night in Los Angeles at a screening and panel for the film, and let's just say it looked like no time had past. “No Way. Way!”

While Dana Carvey and Mike Myers have reprised their roles as Wayne and Garth on "Saturday Night Live" since the movie came out, this is the first time they've reunited with the rest of the cast in 21 years. Bonus! Everyone was all smiles palling around on the red carpet, and even Rob Lowe did an "extreme close-up," planting a big kiss on Mike's cheek. Tia Carrere -- who is now 46, but still a “total babe” just like her former character Cassandra -- was so excited about the reunion she tweeted, "Wayne & Cassandra together once more! Who's up for Wayne's World 3?" What a totally amazing excellent discovery to see the whole cast reuniting!
