Behold – yet another reason to love Mindy Kaling!

Much like her alter ego on "The Mindy Project," the 33-year-old actress is known for being perfectly … imperfect – and that was perhaps no more evident than it was on Thursday as she made her way to the set of "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" midway through her glamification process.Kaling, in a wig, for 'The Mindy Project' season finale. The funny girl was snapped outside NBC Studios in Manhattan wearing the stylish patterned dress she would later don during the TV interview, but her hair was still "in the works." Sections of it were curled and pinned as she walked down the city sidewalk.

This is Kaling's second amusing hairstyle of the week. On Tuesday's season finale of her show, she debuted a super cropped 'do as her lovingly high-maintenance doctor character tried to prove to her minister boyfriend that she'd be able to rough it during a year-long volunteer mission in Haiti.

While her character's look wasn't exactly a hit – she was mistaken for a young boy – she got her man in the end. And on Thursday, Kaling tweeted this fun behind-the-scenes snapshot of her wigging out before filming the episode.

  • Runaway mom Brenda Heist is sitting down with Dr. Phil and breaking her silence in her first interview since abandoning her family 11 years ago.

Heist vanished without a trace on February 8, 2002, after dropping off her two children, Lee, 12, and Morgan, 8, at school in Lilitz, Pennsylvania, leaving her husband, family, and suburban lifestyle behind. Police investigated her disappearance for more than a decade, until she surfaced in Key West, Florida, late last month. Heist told officials she had hitchhiked with other people, lived in a camper, in tents, and under bridges, and scrounged up whatever food she could gather from restaurants. Other reports are telling a different story, saying she found a boyfriend within a year of arriving in Florida and seemed to live a pretty comfortable life, including vacationing, eating out, and going to the beach.

Dr. Phil interviewed the former missing housewife for nearly five hours in the Santa Rosa County Jail, where she is currently being held on outstanding warrants. Heist revealed she never could have imagined she'd be homeless, saying, "I've never even been around homeless people. Maybe see them on the street sometimes, but I've never been around homeless people at all. Never knew anything about it. That's why I had my own problems believing what I was doing. I just kept saying to myself, they're better off without me."

To see the television psychologist's riveting interview with the runaway mom, tune in to “Dr. Phil” on Monday, May 20, where she will also be reunited with her mother for the first time since her disappearance, and be sure to tune in to "omg! Insider" for more of the latest in entertainment news.

  • Miley Cyrus stepped out in Los Angeles on Wednesday night for the Maxim Hot 100 party and, from a distance, the blond songstress looked fabulous in a black and white Valentino jumpsuit and metallic Saint Laurent platform heels. But upon a closer look – the starlet, who scored the number one spot on the men’s magazine’s annual list of hot women – was looking more like a hot mess!

It appears that the "Can't Be Tamed" singer had a major makeup mishap on the red carpet: Her face was covered with an extra-white facial powder that was prominently placed all around her chin. Is there anything worse than an overly dusted face for a major photo op? Between the stark-white powder and the red lips, she looks more like a clown than the hot Hollywood actress that she is! But Miley isn't the only celeb to fall victim to a makeup artist's heavy hand.
