Johnny Depp and Amber Heard hold hands in London (Splash News)Amber Heard is a rare actress in Hollywood … when she says she wants to keep her private life private, she actually means it.
“It’s not part of my professional life,” Heard says firmly, without discussing Depp directly. “I want to be an artist. I don’t want to be a celebrity. You can find pictures of me [on the Internet] pumping gas, picking up dry cleaning, walking my dog, but nowhere are you going to find pictures of me hanging around at some nightclub."
She elaborates: "Can you ever imagine yourself in a situation like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie or Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, where the world feels like they have a stake in your private life? I would never want it."
That's not to say Heard will go out of her way to avoid PDA with her beau. She joined Johnny multiple times on his worldwide press tour for "The Lone Ranger" and the two were not shy about holding hands both in Moscow, Russia and London, England.
“I guess I could not hold hands with who I want to, but what kind of life would that be?" Heard explains. "I don’t want to change just because people are watching. I’ve always been the person who says what she wants.”
Heard says it’s transparent when reporters try to ask about Depp without actually asking about him.
The reporter asks if she finds this funny or just annoying?
“Well,” she says, “I’m laughing at you, aren’t I?”
Before dating Johnny, Amber was in a four-year relationship with photographer Tasya van Ree. She came out as bisexual in 2010.
The interviewer asks if she still identifies as bisexual.
“It is so strange to me that everyone cares,” she replies. “Maybe you like blondes now, but maybe you’ll be into a brunette in the future. I just don’t understand this idea that we have to choose one or the other.”
For now, it would appear as if she's happy with her relationship status.
