Amanda Bynes Leaves Psych Hospital for Rehab Facility

Less than a week after Amanda Bynes's lawyer said she was psychologically unfit to stand trial, the former Nickelodeon star has left the mental-health facility where she's been staying since late July and entered a private treatment facility.

"Currently, upon recommendation by the skilled healthcare professionals at UCLA Medical Center, Amanda is receiving specialized treatment in a private facility outside of Los Angeles," a lawyer for the Bynes family says in a statement to "omg! Insider."

"Amanda is making great strides towards recovery."

The troubled 27-year-old starlet has been undergoing psychological evaluation ever since she was placed in a 5150 psychiatric hold in July. The order was later extended after Bynes was put under a conservatorship controlled by her mother, Lynn.

Amanda's transfer is somewhat surprising. There are unconfirmed reports that she is staying at a swanky drug-treatment center in Malibu that caters to rehabbing celebrities and does not offer the same world-class psychiatric care as UCLA.

"The entire Bynes family would like to ask that they be given some measure of privacy so they can focus on Amanda's health and well-being," the Bynes's family attorney continues in the statement. "The Bynes family would also like to thank all of Amanda’s supporters and well-wishers for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
