Rebecca on the cover of the July/August issue of Health magazine.Since giving birth to twin daughters Dolly and Charlie three and a half years ago, actress Rebecca Romijn's life has changed quite a bit (as can happen when you go from no kids to two at the same time).
A few things she realized she had to give up early on: much of her oenophile ways … and any ideas of late-night partying. "I've had to cut down on wine drinking, big time. I'd fall asleep for an hour, and then be wide awake!" she confesses in the July/August issue of Health magazine. "Every once in a while, I'd toy with the idea of, 'I can be a cool mom — a party girl at night and a mom in the morning.' But I'd regret it every time. Because those girls wake up at 6 a.m. no matter what time you come home!"
She had to change her exercise habits as well, in order to drop the excess weight she gained during pregnancy. (The 5'11" one-time model has said in other interviews that she put on 60 pounds while pregnant with the girls.)
"After I had my babies and was struggling to lose that last bit of weight, I had to challenge my body in a different way. Bikram yoga was key," Romijn shares. "You sweat so much, you'll lose poundage. Though honestly? I dread it every time. [After] I'm grateful for it."

The 39-year-old says she also relied on a "cranberry flat flush," drinking a liter of cranberry flaxseed water a day to get rid of the final five or 10 pounds. "You have to shake it up every single time, to make sure you get some of the flax, and it's like drinking a slightly sour water. I drink that for a week and it really helps flush fat." But that doesn't mean she was on a liquid cleanse. "I'm not into the whole 'not eating' thing," she insists, instead explaining she would "eat clean" during the flush to help stay on track.
With her pre-pregnancy figure now firmly back, the former "Ugly Betty" star, who has been married to fellow actor Jerry O'Connell for five years, also believes in the occasional splurge here and there. "I'm really not about deprivation. If I want a piece of pie — I mean, come on, you have to enjoy life!"
One splurge hubby Jerry isn't into is the fancy candles that his wife likes to burn in the house. In fact … they scare him. "The Hotel Costes in Paris is the best-smelling hotel. So I just bought their candles. But I have to wait until Jerry is not in the house, because he has a fear of fire — anytime he sees a candle burning in our house, he blows it out! I'm always lighting them, and he's always blowing them out."
