Kate Gosselin keeps on running

Most busy moms don't have time to make it to the gym a few hours a week let alone fly around the country running races. But most moms aren't former reality star Kate Gosselin.

The mother of sextuplets and twins took part in Chicago's 2012 XSport Fitness Rock 'n' Roll half marathon on Sunday … but she didn't commit to the full 13.1 miles and instead opted for the three-mile "mini" marathon, clocking in at 29 minutes, 54 seconds, which at least means she broke the 10-minute-mile mark!

But before you roll your eyes over the fact that Gosselin flew all the way to Chicago to run three miles, do note that she completed a full half marathon (or is that an oxymoron?) last month in San Diego. The 37-year-old finished the race in one hour, 56 minutes and 40 seconds and was quite happy with her time.

"I did it!!My official finish X was 1:56:40...A PR for me for sure!," she tweeted after that race. "I wanted to finish the 1/2 marathon in under 2 hrs...&I blew it away! YAY!"

She also completed her first-ever full marathon in December, completing the Zappos.com Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon in just under five hours.

"I'm not one of those (lifelong) runners," Gosselin told the Chicago Tribune the week before. "I started running outside two years ago. It's an inexpensive workout I could do wherever and whenever. … Also, I get very little alone time, so it's my way to be by myself."

But Gosselin got more than a little alone time out of the recent Chicago race … she also used the event as an opportunity to promote CouponCabin, the website for which she now writes. She and a few co-workers ran in T-shirts with the company name emblazoned across them.

The 37-year-old has undergone quite a physical transformation from the dowdy woman who hit the airwaves in 2005 as part of a few one-hour TV specials that morphed into the TLC reality show phenomenon "Jon and Kate Plus 8," undergoing a tummy tuck, dying her hair blond, revamping her wardrobe, and getting herself back into shape via an organic diet and 5-mile daily runs. She and her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, divorced in 1999 and while Kate tried to keep the reality show train going after their split with the single-mom-focused "Kate Plus 8," the series was canceled last year.

So what's next for the one-time "Dancing With the Stars" contestant? Well, from a recent tweet, it sounds like another race. "Another great run with @RunRocknRoll & this time with @CouponCabin! Was a quick hot run but we had so much fun! See u in LA..for the next 1!"
