The irony wasn't lost on us when Chris Brown showed up for his "Today" show chat with Matt Lauer on Monday wearing a shirt covered with peace signs and hearts. Perhaps because one of his last morning show appearances — which ended with him breaking a window with a chair — has something to do with it.

Despite several tough questions, though, Brown smiled and laughed throughout the interview, even at some awkwardly random moments.

In 2011, the actor, who has the support of his girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele while he seeks treatment, first went public about his past addiction. In an interview with Parade, he detailed his troubled teen years – which included abusing alcohol and drugs, and dropping out of high school at 16 – and noted he was "lucky to be alive."

With the future of "Smash" in question, it seems to be a telling sign that Katharine McPhee has shed a signature part of her Karen Cartwright look – her long locks!

The 29-year-old arrived in Los Angeles earlier this week looking quite different than her small screen persona. Her luscious long, chocolate brown tresses had been transformed into a blunt cut, chin-length bob.

It's been nearly three months since the New Year's Day incident, when the freelance photographer died trying to take pictures of Bieber's car, which was being driven by rapper Lil Twist, after it had been stopped by a CHP officer for speeding. Now Vicky Guerra, the mother of the 29-year-old victim, has announced she's filing a lawsuit, alleging that the officer caused her son's death by forcing him into traffic.

The teen – who was with his father when the incident occurred, although the actor, who won the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of gay activist Harvey Milk in 2008, was walking in front of him and was likely out of earshot – has since apologized. "I was accosted by paparazzi and made to feel like an animal – threatened and under attack, but that does not condone my own actions,” he told TMZ. “I deeply regret my choice of words.” (A rep for Sean hasn’t yet responded to omg!’s request for comment.)
