Elton John has received many accolades over the years. He has six Grammys, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, and has even been knighted by HM Queen Elizabeth II for his "services to music and charitable services." Now, the "Rocket Man" singer and his partner, David Furnish, have been nominated to win the Celebrity Dads of the Year award -- in England that is. The first-time fathers welcomed their son, Zachary, into the world last Christmas thanks to the help of a surrogate mother, and are reportedly "thrilled" that they're in the running for the special honor.

According to the organizers of this year's poll, which is sponsored by Premiere Inn, the title aims to "reward the celebrity dad who has impressed the nation by balancing a hectic public life with the demands of parenting."
