  • Zac Efron: Speed Racer

Zac Efron suited up to film scenes at the Iowa Speedway on Friday. - Jeff Steinberg/PacificCoastNews.comLadies and gentleman, start your engines!

Zac Efron, 23, set hearts racing Friday when he donned a uniform to shoot scenes for his upcoming movie "Heartland" at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. The flick stars Zac as a rural Iowan teen named Dean Whipple, who has dreams of becoming a professional race car driver, which doesn't sit too well with his farming father played by Dennis Quaid.

Interestingly enough, there was an actual race -- the Prairie Meadows 200 ARCA Series -- taking place on the day of filming. According to Iowa Speedway president Jerry Jauron, "Efron's character catches a big break to race, and it just so happens that he races in the ARCA races at the Iowa Speedway. The goal is for Zac to look as if he's been racing his whole life."

Of course, Zac didn't actually get behind the wheel and compete, but footage from the race -- including infield shots and the fans in the grandstand -- will appear in the actual flick.

The rest of the film is primarily being shot in

  • Chris Brown Draws Biggest ‘Today’ Show Crowd Ever

I never thought Chris Brown would be able to resurrect his career after assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009. Turns out I was very wrong. Brown's fans (known as teambreezy) stood by him throughout the ordeal -- for which he was sentenced to five years probation and six months community service -- and came out in full force for his "Today" show performance Friday, which broke Lady Gaga's previous record for the biggest "Today" concert ever with over 18,000 fans in attendance!

Diehard members of teambreezy started camping out along NYC's 5th Avenue Wednesday in order to catch the show. The predominately female crowd screamed as the 22-year-old R&B singer performed several of his hits, including "Can Transform Ya," "Yeah 3X," "She Ain't You," and "Forever," all while showing off his smooth dance moves.

  • Kid Rock’s Rooftop Bash

Wherever Kid Rock goes, he seems right at home. Monday night was no exception. After making an appearance on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon," the 40-year-old singer, who is currently on tour with ex-girlfriend Sheryl Crow, headed to a party at the top of the Hotel on Rivington in NYC looking as if he were going to a backyard barbeque. I guess that made sense since he threw the bash himself to celebrate his Men's Journal cover, as well as his Born Free album going platinum.

"We had a little excuse to throw a party, so we gotta' take advantage of that," Kid Rock told the New York Observer. As one would expect, the shindig wasn't fancy. The Detroit native served his guests, who included country couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, Jim Beam and his own beer, Badass American Lager. Although he's getting older, he still knows how to have a good time, but admits he's had to slow things down a bit when it comes to partying and touring. "We didn't give a sh** when we were 27," he says in

  • Fashion Faceoff: Vanessa Williams vs. Eva Longoria

It's fashion faceoff time! This week, we have a battle between two "Desperate Housewives" divas -- Vanessa Williams and Eva Longoria -- who dared to don the same pleated organza Marchesa dress featuring a gold embroidered waist band 20 months apart! Question is ... who wore it better?

    Vanessa Williams: May 19, 2011 - Eugene Gologursky/Getty ImagesEva Longoria: September 10, 2009 - Jordan Strauss/WireImage.com

Back in September 2009, Eva stepped out in the white Marchesa creation at the Padres Contra El Cancer's 9th Annual El Sueno De Esperanza Benefit Gala in Hollywood. She paired the flirty frock with a sideswept 'do, gold peep-toe slingbacks, and pretty crystal quartz earrings by H. Stern.

This past May, Vanessa sported the strapless number to accept the 2011 Icon of Style Award from Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts. (Think she borrowed the dress from Longoria?) The former beauty queen, who received her bachelor of fine arts degree from Syracuse in 2008 -- 25 years after she dropped out to become the first black Miss America -- completed her ensemble with studded platform sandals
