Usually omg! covers the stars attending glamorous red carpet events and fabulous soirees, but every once in a while we get the chance to report on celebs using their fame for good.

As you've probably heard, there is currently a major crisis in East Africa. Thanks to a severe drought and rising food prices, millions of lives are being threatened -- and it is, unfortunately, the children who are the most vulnerable in this dire situation.

Check out this powerful short film -- featuring Bob Marley & The Wailers' 1973 track, "High Tide or Low Tide" -- which was created by Kevin Macdonald (award-winning director of "The Last King of Scotland") to raise awareness for this very important cause.

Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Elton John, Gwen Stefani, Madonna, David Beckham, and Shakira are just a few of the folks lending their support to saving the kids of East Africa.

  • Sinead O’Connor Unrecognizable in Ireland

    Sinead O'Connor in 1993 ... - Paul Natkin/WireImage... and now. - Mark Doyle/Splash NewsNothing compares to ... Sinead O'Connor.

The Irish songstress has always loved controversy -- remember when she ripped up a photo of Pope John Paul II on "Saturday Night Live" in protest of the child abuse taking place in the Roman Catholic Church? -- and she created quite a stir over the weekend when she took to the stage to perform as a backup singer for reggae artist Natty Wailer at the Bray Seaside Festival in Ireland. But it wasn't because she had made some grand political statement. People were buzzing because the now 44-year-old mom of four looked nothing like her former '90s self. Sporting a dowdy black suit, big gold crucifix, and a sheer black net top that put her belly on display for all to see, O'Connor was virtually unrecognizable.

Twenty years ago, Sinead was known for not only her music -- she rose to fame after she released a cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U" in 1990 -- but her pretty elfin-like features and shaved head. While those days might be gone, the

  • Nicki Minaj’s Wardrobe Malfunction

As usual, Nicki Minaj gave a performance to remember on "Good Morning America" Friday thanks to her big frizzy blond wig and crazy stage props, which included a juicy turkey leg and an inflatable throne. But what caused the most buzz around Nicki's concert was her wardrobe malfunction. While bouncing around the Central Park stage, singing her new hit song "Where Them Girls At," the hip-hop star got a little more exposure than she may have been looking for when her crop-top slipped down for a brief second. Ever the professional, Minaj, 28, didn't seem fazed by her nip slip. Born in Trinidad and Tobago, but raised in NYC, the female rapper was thrilled to be performing in such a Big Apple landmark. "I never imagined myself playing in Central Park," she told "GMA's" Robin Roberts. "I'm a hometown girl. I love New York. I'm New York to the fullest!"

"Pink is a lifestyle," said the hip-hop superwoman. "It makes me feel exhilarated, euphoric, and free. It makes me feel unstoppable. When I see pink, it really does make me happy and brightens up my day." - Jamie McCarthy/WireImage.com

Nicki -- who everyone knows loves the color pink -- also never imagined she'd be getting to tour this summer with Britney Spears.

  • Usher’s Double Trouble

Usher's a music superstar by night, a doting dad by day. - INFphoto.comUsher's marriage to Tameka Foster may have not worked out the way he had planned -- they divorced in 2009 after two years of marriage -- but at least he got two adorable sons out of the deal. The 32-year-old R&B star was all smiles while pushing his precious boys -- Usher Raymond V, 3, and Naviyd Ely, 2 -- along the streets of NYC in a double stroller on Wednesday.

A couple of days ago, Usher had the honor of ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange alongside MTV Networks' president Van Toffler to commemorate MTV's 30th anniversary. Ironically, Usher was the same age as his son Naviyd when the cable channel hit the airwaves on August 1, 1981 and played its very first video, "Video Killed the Radio Star."

"I'm really happy to not only be a part of the Stock Exchange, but MTV who has remained relevant for over the last 30 years and will continue to evolve because they are open and really give us that outlet, not only to be musical but also to be creative," said Usher.

  • Drake’s Star-Studded OVO Fest

Drake was hyped to be performing in his native Canada. - George Pimentel/WireImage.comIn November 2009, Lil Wayne signed Drake to his Young Money label. - Clinton Gilders/WI/FilmMagic.comDrake's life has changed drastically in the last couple of years. Though he achieved a certain level of fame after spending eight years on the teen TV series "Degrassi: The Next Generation" as Jimmy Brooks, the school basketball star who wound up in a wheelchair after he was shot by a classmate, did he ever imagine in his wildest dreams that he'd become one of the hottest names in hip-hop?

On Sunday night, the 24-year-old rapper held his second annual OVO Fest (an acronym for his entertainment company October's Very Own) at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto. To the sold-out crowd's delight, many of the big guns in the biz (Lil Wayne, Nas, and Rick Ross to name a few) came out to support the headliner.

When Drake took the stage, he was clearly overwhelmed by the cheers from his hometown audience. "There's only one thing I care about in this world -- Toronto," he said. After performing hits such as "Show Me A Good Time," "Best I Ever Had," and "Over," Drake had another surprise up his

  • Lady Gaga Treats Fans to McDonald’s

Lady Gaga looked rather Christina Aguilera-esque while exiting Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood on Thursday. - Pichichi/Splash NewsLater, she slipped into something a little more revealing for her performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" - Splash News

Although AskMen.com's recent male survey revealed that men around the world are sick of Lady Gaga, that hasn't kept her from booking appearances to promote -- what else? -- her album, Born This Way. While I, too, am a little tired of her outrageous outfits and crazy stage antics, you can't deny that the girl is a great performer. She can actually sing and play the piano! Surprisingly, she even has a pretty good sense of humor, which she demonstrated while guest starring on the season finale of "SNL" with Justin Timberlake, and again last night while she was making an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" In addition to performing "You and I" and "The Edge of Glory" for the Hollywood crowd, she appeared in a cute spoof for a new line of baby clothing called Gaga Goo Goo.

She also sat down for a light-hearted interview with Jimmy, where she discussed everything from her first driving experience in Los Angeles (she only had a learner's permit) to Italian cooking and even bowling. When

  • AskMen.com Survey Reveals That Men Do Not Have Bieber Fever

AskMen.com just released the results of their 2011 Great Male Survey, which polled over 70,000 men from the United States, Canada, England, and Australia, about everything from their personal grooming habits to their breakup styles. AskMen also included a couple of questions pertaining to celebs, where the results revealed that although Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber came in at #1 and #3 on Forbes' Celebrity 100 List respectively, it doesn't mean that everyone loves them.

    25%  Sarah Palin
    17%  Kim Kardashian
    15%  Lindsay Lohan
    3%   Kate Middleton
    3%   Pippa Middleton
    8%   None of the above

Interestingly enough, when the percentages were broken down according to country, it was revealed that a whopping 42% of gents in the U.K. are not into keeping up with curvaceous Kim Kardashian.

  • Vanessa Hudgens Jealous of Sister’s Long Locks

Vanessa Hudgens was snapped taking a spin with her little sis Stella on Tuesday. - Juan Sharma/Miguel Aguilar/PacificCoastNews.comVanessa Hudgens took a brief break from talking about her cropped hairstyle to enjoy a bike ride with her younger sister, Stella, on Tuesday in their Studio City, California, neighborhood.

If you haven't already heard the story behind Vanessa's new look, the 22-year-old actress had to chop off her lovely long locks for her role as a homeless teen in the movie "Gimme Shelter."

Photos: 'High School Musical Stars' - Then and Now

"I miss [my hair], believe me, I do, but there's nothing I can do about it," she sighed while discussing her 'do on "Access Hollywood." "Honestly, I kind of feel like a soccer mom," she continued. "There's nothing wrong with soccer moms, but I'm only 22!"

The actress looked cute and casual in shorts and a baseball cap while out and about in Los Angeles. - Juan Sharma/Miguel Aguilar/PacificCoastNews.comLater, Vanessa glammed it up on the red carpet at the premiere of "Captain America: The First Avenger." - Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic.com

Making matters worse for Hudgen is the fact that her sis -- who looks exactly like her -- still has her flowing tresses to flip around. "My sister is like my best friend and she naturally has the longest hair, so whenever I'm around her I'm giving her the evil eye," laughed Vanessa.

    But short hair doesn't

  • Watch the ‘Jersey Shore’ Season 4 Premiere Trailer

Most "Jersey Shore" fans can't wait for the show's Season 4 premiere on August 4, but I'm admittedly a little nervous. That's because Season 4 takes place in Italy -- and I'm not sure that Snooki, The Situation, JWoww, Pauly D, Deena, Vinny, Sammi, and Ronnie are exactly the best people to be representing America abroad.

Photos: 'Jersey Shore' Goes to Italy

The "Jersey Shore" cast brings their antics to Italy for the new season, which premieres on August 4. - Splash News

While all of the reality roomies are very proud of their Italian heritage -- even Snooki, who was born in Chile, but raised by Italian-American parents -- they have no idea about what life is like outside of the Tri-State area. So perhaps exposing them to a different culture will be a good thing in helping to expand their horizons? Wishful thinking. After watching the MTV trailer, it looks like viewers will be treated to more of the same (clubbing, fighting, smushing) ... just in a different locale. Sure, Snooki will learn a few things, like what a bidet is, or the fact that Italy's currency is not the peso. She'll even get to
