That's why the singer attended the Healthy Child Healthy World gala in Beverly Hills the other night, where she showed her support for the nonprofit, which is dedicated to protecting young children from harmful chemicals.
But the evening wasn't about Sheryl or the other celebs (Ricki Lake, Jane Kaczmarek, Amy Smart, Jessica Capshaw, and Arianna Huffington) who were in attendance. Instead, Shelby Rodriguez, a "regular" mom, was recognized for her work in halting a roof-tarring project that was polluting the air to dangerous levels for herself and her then 3-year-old daughter in Antelope, California, and named 2009's Mom on a Mission.
