I feel weird if I can't move my face, and that one time I overdid it, I felt trapped in my own skin. M.I.A. is usually stirring something up, but the controversial rapper seemed rather serene while in mommy mode during a trip to NYC. Although she's been doing press for her new album, /\/\/\Y/\, which drops on July 13, M.I.A. made sure to fit in some quality time with her adorable 16-month-old son Ikhyd. (Yeah, I don't know how to pronounce the album title either, but it's apparently a typographic that represents M.I.A.'s legal name Maya.)  

At any rate, I love these photos. I'm so used to seeing the 34-year-old singer in some crazy performance getup that it's refreshing to catch her kicking around the East Village in cutoffs and a simple black tee. Meanwhile, how cute is little Ikhyd in his camouflage shorts?

But enough of the sentimental stuff. M.I.A.'s still got her edge. During an interview with New York's Hot 97, the typically outspoken singer did her best to clear up some misconceptions about things she's said in the press, like finding an unnamed Justin Bieber video offensive

Twi-Hards everywhere are gearing up for "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," which finally hits theaters on June 30. For the premiere at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles Thursday night, thousands of fans camped out for days just in the hopes that they might catch a glimpse of the films stars. Apparently, 550 or so will be rewarded with actual spots on the red carpet where they will get to see Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner up close. Lucky!
