Miley Cyrus and friend/assistant Cheyne Thomas. (INFPhotos.com)Can't a girl have a friend? Not if you're Miley Cyrus.
There are some old-fashioned people out there who think that once you get married — or even engaged — that being friends with the opposite sex is inappropriate and can only mean one thing: infidelity. Silly, right? The philosophy of simple fuddy-duddies, you'd think.
So it was surprising, and frankly, disappointing to see all the hullabaloo surrounding some photos that surfaced on Wednesday of Miley and a male pal in a pool during a visit to Miami this week. The 19-year-old former Disney star, who announced her engagement to fellow actor Liam Hemsworth, 22, just last week, quickly became the subject of plenty of cheating-focused stories. "Is Miley Cyrus cheating on her fiancé already?" one blog asked. "Miley Cyrus' Sexy Bikini Date With A Mystery Man — Not Liam Hemsworth" another celeb news site boasted.

Aaron Paul accidentally pranks the local news

Araya Diaz/Wireimage"Breaking Bad" actor Aaron Paul may be a prankster, but he never meant to end up with his own version of "Punk'd" on the local news, he swears! On Monday night's episode of "Conan," Paul, who was there to promote the final season of his series, which premieres next month, shared a story which involved him pulling one over on his old roommate. (Yes, the star of one of the best shows on television had a roommate up until recently.) The roommate, named David, believed that the world was going to end in 2012, so, in order to "prove him right," Paul tried to convince him that meteorites were slamming into their backyard. The actor and another pal bought some real meteorites from a specialty shop in Santa Monica, California, dug a crater in the yard, filled it with dry ice, and then covered it up with the meteorites before using water to set off "a dry ice bomb."

Linda Gray, Larry Hagman (2nd & 3rd from left), and Patrick Duffy (right) with the original cast. (Everett)There are pros and cons to the recent rash of reboots in TV and film in recent years. Sometimes, it's just nice to leave classic shows the way you remember them without the 21st century spin. (Case in point: We didn't need to see the trainwreck that was ABC's new "Charlie's Angels" series last fall). But other times, if the remake includes some favorite characters played by the original actors, well, that's a different story.
