Lark Voorhies may be in denial that she is suffering from bipolar disorder, as her mother has revealed, but her former “Saved by the Bell” co-star Dustin Diamond says he noticed something was off with her nearly a decade ago. In an interview with People magazine, the actor who played Screech – the nerd in love with Voorhies’ Lisa Turtle – says when the two reunited in 2003 to record a commentary for the popular show’s box set, he was not greeted by the same girl he once knew.
"I was always used to playing off of her and looking into her eyes," says Diamond of Voorhies. He adds that this time, she would stare into space, much like she did during the two interviews she did with the magazine. According to People, she was so out of it during the first, they had to reschedule a second. (Voorhies, 38, maintains that she was quiet at times simply because she was praying in her mind.)
