She'll remove the shades for a group photo-op with the cast of the movie, which she directed, but otherwise she prefers to shroud her face like Anna Wintour in the front row of a fashion show. At Thursday night's "W.E" premiere, Madonna posed for the cameras wearing a glamorous gray gown with red embellishments and matching glasses. Earlier in the day, she had on oversized black shades during a cast photocall, eventually taking them off for the cameras. Not such a huge deal, but the sunglasses-at-night thing seems extreme. People who wear sunglasses at night a la the Sting song are A) totally lame, liked popped collars or B) hiding something, like a black eye.
