  • Oprah Tops Forbes’ List of the Most Influential Celebrities

    It looks like giving up her syndicated show wasn’t such a big deal after all. Almost two years after she called it quits on her talk show, Oprah Winfrey is still the most influential celebrity in America, according to Forbes.

    According to data from E-Poll Research, 48% of people polled rate Winfrey as influential. That’s down only one point from last year when she also topped the list of Most Influential Celebrities. Ratings at Oprah’s OWN network are starting to creep up thanks to big “get” interviews like her recent special in which she grilled Lance Armstrong about his drug use. The two-part show drew 28 million viewers around the world. Prime-time ratings at the network are up 17% already this year, according to Nielsen.

  • Eddie Murphy Is The Most Overpaid Actor In Hollywood

Remember back in the day when he was so funny on "Saturday Night Live" and in movies like "Trading Places" and "Beverly Hills Cop"? His voice work has helped make movies like "Shrek" and "Mulan" tolerable for adults, and even his family-friendly movies, like "Norbit" and "Dr. Dolittle," were good for some chuckles.

    But lately, Murphy’s career has just collapsed. "Imagine That," "A Thousand Words" and "Meet Dave" were colossal flops. Last year’s "Tower Heist," which was supposed to be something of a return to form for the comedian, failed to wow at the box office, earning $153 million on an estimated budget of $75 million. (In order to even come close to turning a profit, a movie has to earn twice its production budget in ticket sales, plus the millions spent on marketing.) Murphy then backed out of hosting the Oscars, which didn’t help his reputation.
