  • The Met Gala Meets Halloween: The Scariest Makeup of the Evening

Here's the thing about the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala: People sometimes wear costumes.

And with a theme of "Punk: Chaos to Couture," the looks were bound to go in an especially costume-y direction. That worked out pretty well for some (Madonna, we're looking at you). For others, not so much.

When it came to makeup, several stars seemed to have missed a very important memo: Halloween is in October. This is May.

Not sure how that message could've gotten lost in the mail, but for stars like Ginnifer Goodwin and Lily Collins, it did. It really did.

Collins, who is known for her strong brow, went even stronger and paired them with some serious "Black Swan"-like shadow. Meanwhile, Goodwin went so dark from the edge of her eyelid up to her brow, it was frighteningly difficult to tell hair from skin.

  • Cameron Diaz’s Met Gala Dress Might Hurt You

Cameron Diaz at the 2013 Met Gala (Stephen Lovekin/FilmMagic)Cameron Diaz must've had a hard time finding anyone to dance with her at Monday night's Met Gala.

As pretty as she looked -- a vision in cobalt Stella McCartney, really -- we can't imagine anyone would really want to sidle up to the frighteningly large, spiked belt wrapped around her waist.

The dress seemed demure enough with a reverse cape-like creation draped over her shoulders and all, but the sharp metal in the middle was enough to torture someone "Game of Thrones" style.

Diaz, 40, kept the studded motif going all the way down to her toes, where she rocked a pair of platform stud sandals.

At least the "Bad Teacher" actress knew what she was talking about when it came to the punk theme, unlike many of her contemporaries.

  • Anne Hathaway Turns Up Blond at the Met Gala

Anne Hathaway at the 2013 Met Gala (Stephen Lovekin/FilmMagic)Remember when everyone flipped out after Anne Hathaway chopped off her long, flowing locks? Well, hold on to your hats, people.

    Girl. Is. Blond.

The 30-year-old Oscar winner, whose brunette coif has pretty much remained the same color for all of her storied career, turned up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala in New York City rocking a brand new hue to go with her vintage Valentino.

No word yet if any particular project inspired such a change, but the drastic measure certainly was in line with the evening's punk theme. In fact, the star claimed her inspiration for the night was rocker Debbie Harry.

We can't help but wonder if the move will inspire dozens of women to grab for the bleach. Hathaway's short pixie cut – shorn for her statuette-scoring

Amanda Bynes post-surgery (Twitter)Bynes before surgery (Getty Images)
Amanda Bynes is still lashing out at publications who use older photos of her, but at least now she's explaining why it's so frustrating to her. The reason? Plastic surgery.

We can't say we didn't suspect that the 27-year-old had had some work done, but we appreciate her coming clean about it.

"The reason I've asked all magazines and blogs to stop using old photos of me is I don't look like that anymore," she wrote on Twitter. "I had a nose job to remove skin that was like a webbing in between my eyes."

  • Gunshots Ring Out on Jennifer Lopez’s Music Video Set

Jennifer Lopez on the set of her 'Live It Up' video (Splash News)Popping and locking are the kinds of things you expect from the set of a Jennifer Lopez music video. Not gunshots.

J.Lo and Pitbull were filming a clip for "Live It Up" at the Fort Lauderdale Beach Park Sunday night when the shots were heard nearby. The Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel reports that the singer was secured in her car immediately as Fort Lauderdale police were called to investigate the incident in a parking long just north of the set.

  • Nina Dobrev’s Key to Morning Fabulousness: Being Happy!

Nina Dobrev (Getty Images)Waking up early is never easy, but getting out of bed Friday morning was a little easier for us knowing that we'd be starting our day with Nina Dobrev.

Still, the experience was harrowing. When we arrived at the Origins store in the Flatiron District in New York City for the launch of their new GinZing Energy-boosting moisturizer, we realized just how unfair the world can be: The 24-year-old "Vampire Diaries" starlet looked ready to step on the red carpet for a primetime premiere, complete with Jimmy Choo shoes and a chic and trendy midriff-revealing ensemble by Thakoon.

Needless to say, we just had to know how she did that. Unlike Katherine and Elena on her show, she was nice enough to give us a few pointers.

Don't dilly-dally when the alarm goes off. It always helps to "wake up and start your day right away," Dobrev told omg!. "I sleep on my stomach so all the water goes into my face and I get really puffy in the mornings. I have to wake up early and let everything drain and do

  • Jon Bon Jovi, Chelsea Clinton, and Celebrity Chefs Make Time for Hunger

Jon Bon Jovi performs at the Can Do Awards (Getty Images)
How often do you hear about Jon Bon Jovi playing a pared down set for an audience that's only a fraction of the size of a stadium crowd?

Not that often, but the famed rocker made the time in honor of the Food Bank for New York City, which held its annual Can Do Awards dinner Tuesday night at Cipriani Wall Street. JBJ, who was honored with an award from the charity in 2009, took to the stage with a few select musicians -- no, Richie Sambora was not one of them -- and played sweet, chilled-out versions of "Who Says You Can't Go Home," "Livin' on a Prayer," and "Wanted Dead or Alive."

  • Tom Brokaw: Lindsay Lohan Ruined the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Tom Brokaw (Getty Images)Lindsay Lohan (Getty Images)
    It's all Lindsay Lohan's fault.

Apparently, she ruined the White House Correspondents' Dinner for everyone. Or, at least, Tom Brokaw.

The annual star-studded event is set to take place this weekend in Washington, D.C., but the veteran TV newsman won't be there because of a certain guest who was in attendance at last year's gala.

"The breaking point for me was Lindsay Lohan," Brokaw told Politico during a recent interview. "She became a big star at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Give me a break."

This isn't the first we've heard of the "Nightly News" host's frustrations with the event. Just one week after the 2012 bash, he appeared on "Meet the Press" urging planners to "rethink" it, explaining that it "separates the press from the people that they're supposed to serve, symbolically."

"I think any organization … has to have a kind of self-policing instinct and what we're doing with that dinner, as it has been constituted for the past several years, is saying, 'We're Versailles. The
