Victoria Beckham reveals why she never smiles

She has a loving (and very handsome) husband, four healthy children, a successful fashion empire, and tons of money, yet Victoria Beckham always looks so unhappy. Why? "I actually used to smile a lot in pictures," the former Spice Girl tells Glamour in its September issue (which she guest-edited). "I think I only stopped smiling when I got into fashion. Fashion stole my smile! I've created this person. And I'm not saying that's not me, but I wouldn't say that's the whole me … It's an armor that goes up."

Fashion may have stolen Beckham's smile, but it also has given her a reason to be creative — and a little cheeky. In her role as guest editor of Glamour, she enjoyed choosing the colors and photos for the features, and even came up with her own list of fashion don'ts. "Boat shoes (unless of course you're designer Alber Elbaz or on a boat!), Bermuda shorts, nose rings, Crocs, and American tan tights (that's nude pantyhose to you)."

In September, just two months after Beckham, 38, gave birth to her daughter Harper Seven, she showed the spring collection of her clothing line at New York Fashion Week, and the event was not only the first for her infant daughter, but also her husband, soccer superstar David Beckham. During previous fashion shows, he had "always been working or training," she said. "But I was nervous about this show. I was feeling a lot of pressure. He phoned me the night before, and I just said, 'I want you to come be with me. I want a cuddle. I really do.' And it was great to have him there. I think he was surprised; I don't usually bother him with much detail. And then you get there, and the models, the hair, the makeup … I think he was blown away!"

Although Beckham admits having it all is "a juggling act" right now, she has no intentions to slow down or cut back. In fact, when asked where she saw herself and her family (which also includes three sons Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, 9, and Cruz, 7), she told Glamour that in addition to them all being "healthy and happy," she'd "like to be growing the business at a steady pace, and to be making more women feel empowered, beautiful, and confident. And I'd never say never about another baby."
