No, that's not one of those Geico cavemen walking around L.A. — that's Shia LaBeouf. The "Transformers" star was practically unrecognizable in a grizzly beard and greasy hair slicked back into a ponytail when he stepped out for coffee on Thursday. LaBeouf, 25, finished off the disheveled look with a grandpa-style sweater zipped up over a brown plaid shirt and what appears to be a significant weight gain.

Of course, the mountain-man transformation could be for a role, but the actor's next movie is "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman," in which he'll play a man who falls in love with a woman (Evan Rachel Wood) who has a thug for a boyfriend — which doesn't exactly sound like it calls for a beard and ponytail. Then again, it doesn't start filming until May, so perhaps LaBeouf is just letting himself go until he has to head back to work.

LaBeouf has made a drastic 180 since audiences first met the fresh-faced teen on the Disney sitcom "Even Stevens" in 2003. It all began in 2007 when he was arrested in a Chicago-area Walgreens for trespassing after a security guard suspected he was drunk and asked him to leave. The next year, the actor was arrested for DUI after he was involved in a car accident that completely crushed his left hand. Twice last year he was involved in bar fights — one of which was videotaped and showed the actor getting roughed up by three different people. And as recently as last August, LaBeouf reportedly spit water on shock rocker Marilyn Manson, his friend, at an L.A. club. Ooh, he's such a bad boy!
