Jewelers Roll Out Replicas of Angelina Jolie’s Engagement Ring

Brad Pitt spent a year painstakingly designing the engagement ring he gave to Angelina Jolie when he proposed to her earlier this month, but now the average Joe can snap up a copy of the same exact ring for that special moment when he too decides to get down on one knee. Two jewelry companies have created replicas of the Oscar winner's $500,000 16-carat rock — at a fraction of the cost, of course.

Gemvara is selling the Evelyn ring, an emerald-cut center rock crystal (a colorless variety of quartz) flanked by smaller emerald-cut side stones (total carats: 5.45) set on a sterling silver band, for a fairly affordable $1200. And the resemblance is no coincidence. On the company's Website, it boasts, "Reminiscent of Angelina Jolie's engagement ring, this piece possesses a coveted elegance."

For the man with a little more money to spend (ok, actually a lot more), the high-end Jacob & Co. is selling a $300,000 version of Jolie's sparkler that includes baguette-cut diamonds surrounding an emerald-cut center stone on an 18-karat white gold band. But in this case, the company wasn't seeking to make a buck off fans of Jolie and Pitt. Jacob & Co. actually already had the dead ring-er for sale before the Hollywood royal couple decided to make it official. But we can only imagine sales have gotten a big boost!

Jolie, 36, first debuted her one-of-a-kind bling on April 11 at a private viewing at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Chinese Galleries, which she attended with her new fiancé and their 8-year-old son Pax. Pitt, 48, collaborated with jeweler Robert Procop, who has also worked with the actress on her own line. "Brad had a specific vision for this ring," the jeweler said in a statement. "He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so Robert was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suit Angelina's hand. Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution. The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality."

As for the $1,200 version, well, that quality is probably debatable.
