Now that Jessica Simpson has revealed her big baby news (not that you didn't see it coming), the 31-year-old's comments about her weight in an interview with Lucky magazine have become especially interesting.

"Everybody fluctuates, but I'm open about my weight and I'm still confident," Jessica says in the December issue regarding her publicized weight gain. "I didn't cry about it too much. I like the way I look." Whether or not the 31-year-old knew she was pregnant when she did the interview in early September remains to be seen (though given her pretty prominent baby bump, all signs point to yes), but it seems Jessica is comfortable with her expanding waistline … and has even found it's good for business!

"I got so much scrutiny for putting on extra pounds, but I think that the decision not to make myself anorexic was actually great for branding," the singer and fashion designer explains. "Because when you're really, really skinny, not everybody can relate to you."
As for when she'll tie the knot with her fiancé of nearly a year, former NFLer Eric Johnson, she's not about to share that scoop, because she claims she doesn't have it.
"When I got engaged, everyone thought I would get married immediately, but I have not put a single dress on, and by the time this comes out I will not be married!," Jessica correctly predicts. "We're just enjoying being engaged right now -- and that's honest."

Though she's got her hands full preparing to be a parent, the businesswoman is still focused on her clothing line. "I love that I can dream about paisley, and then two months later, someone's wearing it," she says. "I really observe things now, like I can see a painting and want it to be printed on a shirt, it's fun to always be turning things into clothes."
Perhaps the mom-to-be will be launching a maternity line sometime soon?
