Alexi LubomirskiGwyneth Paltrow had to kiss her super-fit body goodbye for her upcoming role as an alcoholic country singer in "Love Don't Let me Down."
"The director, Shana Feste, didn't want me to have any definition whastsoever, so I had to stop working out," she reveals in the May issue of Harper's Bazaar. As a result, Gwyneth got a chance to live it up for the two months she was filming in Tennessee.
"I was so bad with the food and alcohol in Nashville," she confesses. "If you saw me naked compared to what I looked like when I did 'Iron Man 2," when I was exercising every day ... I'll get it back together, but I've never eaten so much fried food and white flour in my life, ever. Oh, God," she groans.
Although most of us would welcome the opportunity to indulge in french fries and ice cream sundaes, Paltrow wasn't as thrilled. The Oscar winner is known for sticking to a strict diet -- consisting primarily of fish, fruits, vegetables, and brown rice -- and workout regimen. Gwyneth's trainer, Tracy Anderson, recommends daily one-hour cardio workouts and a hour of toning six days a week. Honestly, who has that kind of time?! Apparently, Hollywood stars do.

Gwyneth also had to make time to learn guitar for her role as a country crooner. Fortunately, her hubby, Coldplay's Chris Martin, was happy to lend her a hand. "He was so helpful, so sweet, and encouraging," she gushes. "I mean, it's embarrassing to be playing in front of your husband, especially when he's in one of the world's most successful bands."

In her spare moments, the mother of two doles out advice on her website, GOOP, which covers topics ranging from where to shop and eat to book and party song recommendations. While the blog has received a lot of attention since its launch in September 2008, it's not always positive. The critics have enjoyed slamming Gwyneth for attempting to become a "lifestyle guru" of sorts. "There was a brouhaha in the beginning there, which I thought was very interesting, because people don't like you to step outside of your box," she notes. Nevertheless, she continues to share her words of wisdom with the world online.
"The hotel concierge is not telling me where to get a facial, Christy Turlington is. Doesn't everyone want to know that?" she asks. "I would want to know if you went to Mario Batali's house what he made you for dinner and could I have the recipe. So why not?"
While Gwyneth admits she's exhausted from taking on so many projects -- "Some days I feel like everyone in my world has plugged themselves into my kidneys," she sighs -- she and Chris (whose schedule is equally hectic) always makes time for their two children, Apple, 6, and Moses, 4. "When you're having dinner with your kids and your husband and someone says something funny or you're dying laughing because your 3-year-old made a fart joke, it doesn't matter what else is going on," smiles the actress. "That's real happiness."

Happiness for the celebrity couple is also avoiding the paparazzi. "The thing about the paparazzi, I realized, is it's probably made me look like a really grumpy person," she explains. "Because when you get a magazine and you see someone with a scowl on her face, looking down, you're like, 'God, she looks like a bitch' or 'She looks like an unhappy old lady.' But when you're the person they're taking the picture of, it's like, 'You just followed me and made my kid cry and you're going to make money off it? You want me to look at you and smile? Are you out of your mind?'"
