Emma Watson shoots her new Lancome campaign in Paris. - KCSPresse/Splash NewsA few weeks ago, "Harry Potter" star Emma Watson announced she'd be taking a break from her studies at Brown University to pursue other projects. Though she's probably gearing up for a new blockbuster or two, the English actress has first closed her books (temporarily) to become the new face of Lancome.
Just one day after the news broke on Monday, the glamorous actress was spotted filming her first commercial for the famed French beauty brand in Paris with Mario Testino, shooting scenes in front of the iconic La Societe restaurant and Cafe de Flore in Paris' Saint-Germain district.
PacificCoastNews.com The departure from her studies kicked off with an announcement from the 20-year-old herself, when she posted the following message on her website: "As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I've had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible. I've decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on 'Harry Potter' (the last one comes out this summer) and to focus on my other professional and acting projects. I will still be working towards my degree ... it's just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought :)"
Following her declaration, Emma started posting teasing messages on her Twitter account about her first gig away from the school yard. "A new venture is starting - what can it be? Follow my clues and you will see..." she wrote last Friday, followed by her first clue, "I'll pierce your skin if you hold me wrong but I'll love you forever if you pass me on." I figured Emma was referring to a rose.
Over the next few days Emma posted the following clues:
"I'll be seen through a lens that has seen me before. Do you know who I mean, or do you still need more?"
"Are you keeping pace? No? Don't lose face, it's not a race. We share our birthplace..."
"It's a beauty house that wears a hat. French? Very, but this is no beret."
"This Pretty Woman was their latest recruit. Other great actresses have previously followed suit."

If you need answers to Emma's clues we've deciphered the following: Lancome uses a rose in its advertising campaigns. Emma's spent a lot of time in front of the camera (the lens). Emma was born in Paris. Lancome wears a hat -- it's the accent over the "o" in Lancome. Julia Roberts was the brand's last recruit.
This campaign will surely only take a few days to shoot, so we're still curious as to what Emma's really postponed school for. Perhaps she'll gift us with a few more clues via Twitter some time soon!
