Christina Hendricks sports a Donna Karen New York dress on the August issue of Lucky . - Ruven Afanador/LuckyWith her fiery red locks and va-va-voom physique, Christina Hendricks -- who portrays "Mad Men's" Joan Holloway -- is certainly a Hollywood head-turner. Unfortunately, it's not always easy for the 36-year-old actress to dress her curvaceous figure. Check out some of the highlights from her interview in Lucky magazine's August issue.
On dressing her famous curves: "I have to be careful about my proportions and keep it simple. What works for me is structure and something that shows my waist."
On her least favorite outfit: "It's really hard to find a bathing suit if you have breasts. You either get smooshed down or there's no support."
On prepping for the paparazzi and fashion critics before a red carpet event: "I try to remain calm and remind myself that this is a fun, lovely event."
On her go-to designers when stepping out on the red carpet: "Vivienne Westwood for drama, L'Wren Scott for her perfect tailoring and body consciousness, and Zac Posen for whimsy."
On why Hendricks, a natural blonde, dyed her hair at age 10: "I was obsessed with Anne of Green Gables, so I wanted red hair. My mom said, 'I'll throw a rinse on it.'"
On how she's integrated some of the "Mad Men" style into her own wardrobe: "I collect animal bracelets. I got my first one off the 'Mad Men' set; they let me keep a horse cuff I fell in love with."
