      Coming Into Her Own
"In my 20s, I was so miserable that I looked it. My weight was all over the place. At 30, I was, like, 'I made it!' Then my career took off, and I discovered you can be on a show where the women aren't 20 and aren't hiding that fact. I felt better, so I looked better. I became more present in my own body."

      Pride and Joy
"I try to remember that there's this whole world out there. When I was in Mozambique as an Oxfam ambassador, I helped women expand a chicken business. They were living on less than a dollar a month. They had nothing. But

    • Fashion Faceoff: LeAnn vs. Kim K

Are you ready for yet another designer dress duel? This go-round, LeAnn Rimes takes on Kim Kardashian.

First up, the country star. LeAnn popped a pose in the stunning Stella McCartney frock upon arriving at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Eddie Cibrian's latest lover paired the dress with sexy black gladiator sandals, a stunning serpent ring, dramatic chandelier earrings, and bubblegum nail polish.

Kim K, on the other hand, was spotted sashaying down the red carpet at this year's Teen Choice Awards in a white version of the very same dress, nearly four months after Ms. Rimes rocked it. The reality star opted to enhance her plunging ensemble with metallic Gucci heels, and a caramel 'do.

Ladies and gentlemen (Do guys actually read this? Probably not), we have another close call on our hands. I typically like Kim's looks, but her lightened locks are a tad distracting. Then there's LeAnn. I have to give her some credit; for a country gal, she can actually pull it

    • Clive Owen’s Favorite Role: Family Man

Clive Owen on the cover of Details - Details magazineClive Owen has established himself as a serious actor. No, better make that serious actor. So when Details magazine paid a visit to the star of "Sin City," "Children of Men," and "Duplicity" at his home in a leafy London suburb, it wasn't surprising when Owen suggested a stroll through a local cemetery.

After all, Owen's face often wears an expression that suggests a man contemplating mortality. But what's really on his mind these days is his family. Even during his tombstone tour. Spotting a fox, he says, "I've got to bring the girls here," referring to his daughters, Hannah, 12, and Eve, 10.

"There have been times in the past when it's become clear that there needs to be a break," he says of balancing his Hollywood career with his family life. "Too much working. Too much going away. You just stop. As things have opened up for me, I call it. I say, 'I'm sorry, you want to film then? I can't do it.'"

On recent scripts: They are “not very good. And these are films that are funded and ready to go -- expensive movies. You’re amazed that people are funding them. I start to think it’s me -- that I’m being too choosy.” - Norman Jean Roy/Details

    • Kate Gosselin’s Wavy New ‘Do

Kate Gosselin received rave reviews from the ladies of "The View" after she debuted a wavy new 'do while sitting in as a guest host on Tuesday's episode. The softer coif came courtesy of "The View's" hair stylists. "Isn't it cute?" beamed the "Jon & Kate Plus 8" star. Well, it's definitely an improvement over her infamous spiky in the back/flat ironed in the front look! Should Kate keep riding the waves?

    • Gaga at the VMAs: Scary or Stylish?

Upon her arrival, Lady Gaga channeled "The Phantom of the Opera" in a feathered Jean-Paul Gaultier frock, bedazzled neck brace, and gold mask. - Dimitrios Kambouris/WireImage.comBy no means do I want to disrespect Michael Jackson or his legacy, but let's be honest; the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards had nothing to do with the King of Pop and everything to do with Lady Gaga. OK, and the Kanye vs. Taylor debacle, but I don't have the energy to further chastise the classless rapper/scumbag.

      Moving on ...

Yes, Madonna's eulogy was delivered with poise and heart. Yes, Janet's opening number was interesting (well, for 10 seconds ... until you realized she was lip-synching). Yes, Kanye made an ass of himself. Yes, Russell Brand made innumerable crotch jokes. Yes, Pink impressed by belting out "Sober" while performing a highwire routine. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

But, despite it's grandiose theme (honoring the late great MJ) and the Kanye dramz, the VMAs belonged to Lady Gaga. Why? Two things: her outrageous performance of "Paparazzi" and the insane ensembles she rocked throughout the night.

Some found her outfits downright frightening, while others found them incredibly

    • Famous Faces: Fake or Natural?

To Botox or not to Botox, that is the question.

With the paparazzi on the prowl 24/7, TV shows being shot in high definition, and gossip rags constantly critiquing them, it's not surprising to learn that today's celebs are more concerned than ever about their looks.

While some stars such as Sharon Osbourne swear by the magic of injectable botulism and acid, others such as Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson have tried and failed.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, A-listers like Kate Winslet and Susan Sarandon refuse to go near the needles.

Check out this episode of "The Thread" to find out who's using, who's abusing, and who doesn't want to mess with their moneymaker!

The Lebanese-Colombian singer's music has so many influences that she appeals to just about everyone. Take her latest album, She Wolf, due in October. Shakira tells Vanity Fair that it's a melting pot of "music from India, the Middle East, dancehall, a little bit of Colombian influences. • Gwen Stefani’s Still ‘Just a Girl’

Gwen Stefani shares her best buys for under $40 in the October issue of Glamour . - Matthias Vriens-McGrath/GlamourGwen Stefani never imagined she would become the superstar she is today. Although her parents supported her in everything she did, they encouraged their aspiring rock star to have a backup plan. "They always made it really clear that those kinds of things, those dreams, never come true," she explains in Glamour's October issue.

"That was the way I was taught -- [making it big] doesn't happen to people. And then it did." Still, sometimes she has to pinch herself. "I'm just a girl," she continues. "Do you think that I ever thought I would be doing this right now?"

Get a preview of what else the funky, almost 40-year-old singer/designer (her birthday is October 3) has to say about her style inspiration, her wildly successful fashion lines, and family life with her hunky hubby Gavin Rossdale and their two sons, Kingston and Zuma.

    • Zoe Saldana: Uptown Girl

Zoe Saldana takes to the streets of Harlem in a Burberry jacket and a Zac Posen skirt. - Michael Roberts/Vanity FairAs she proved in this summer's "Star Trek" as Lieutenant Uhura, Zoe Saldana shines when she's surrounded by guys. "I love acting with men," the 31-year-old actress tells Vanity Fair. "I tend to gravitate toward roles in movies where I get to be the only girl." Happily, Saldana has another high-testosterone sci-fi epic in the works: James Cameron's hotly anticipated special-effects bonanza "Avatar," set in the 22nd century, which will hit theaters December 18.

Zoe also has upcoming roles in "Takers," a heist movie starring Hayden Christensen, and Neil LaBute's "Death at a Funeral," featuring James Marsden, Chris Rock, and Danny Glover. But don't expect this native New Yorker to allow her ethnicity (she was born to a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother) to define her career. "I've done roles that anybody would have done," she says. "I've never helped any girl get the quarterback. I left with the quarterback."
