Brooke Shields sits in her renovated Greenwich village town home. William Waldron/ADA native of New York City, Brooke Shields wanted to recapture her childhood — and create similar memories for her own two daughters — when she returned to the Big Apple last year for her turn in the lead role of Morticia in Broadway's "The Addams Family." Inspired by the recent sale of the Upper East Side townhouse she grew up in, the actress vowed her next home would heal the "heartbreak" she felt seeing her mother Teri's belongings ending up in a sterile storage space. "I promised myself I would give my girls the kind of richly textured urban childhood that comes with sinking roots into a real New York neighborhood," says Shields, who opened up her Greenwich Village doors to AD. "I wanted to create for them, and us, an experience of home with a layered and resonant personal history."Read More »from Brooke Shields Opens Up Her Cozy NYC Townhouse

Everyone ends up in the kitchen, they say. Invite a few or 100 friends over and more often than not -- no matter what you've done to make other areas of your home more inviting -- that room full of food and appliances is the one where people want to be. The same goes for celebrities' homes, of course. The difference is they've got more money than most of us, which means their kitchens end up looking absolutely amazing, filled with everything from professional-grade stoves to crystal chandeliers to custom-made floors. The March issue of Architectural Digest gives readers a peek inside a few of these impressive kitchens, including those belonging to Sting, Ellen DeGeneres, Gerard Butler, Elton John, and Diane Keaton. Check 'em out …

Life & StyleKris Humphries, who famously split from Kim Kardashian after only 72 days of marriage, has made some improvements to his Minnesota digs -- and, fortunately, his ex's signature animal print is nowhere in sight! The New Jersey Nets player, 26, worked with Jason Cameron and former NFL athlete Tony Siragusa, of DIY Network's "Man Caves," to transform his basement into the ultimate bachelor pad. Highlights include a headboard over his bed featuring his initials and a state-of-the-art entertainment center.
The former Mr. Kardashian wanted what Cameron describes as "a cool, modern space where he could hang out with his buddies and play video games or watch TV."

Omg! scored an invite to the swanky soiree, where everyone toasted the season return of the two hit shows, nibbled on tuna tartar, and got to chat casually with the handsome actors. Turns out, both of them know how get their groove on.
Feuerstein, 40, who portrays hot Dr. Hank, said he first learned of the Hamptons -- the wealthy oceanfront community where "Royal Pains" takes place -- while attending the famed Dalton School in Manhattan as a teen. But it wasn't a completely high-brow childhood for Feuerstein, who revealed that he spent most of his free time as a kid hosting break dancing sessions at the temple he attended on the Upper East Side. He even made T-shirts for his crew and learned to pop and lock on cardboard boxes. Charlize Theron may be a statuesque knockout now, but the 36-year-old reveals in the February issue of W magazine that she didn't always feel like one.
"For the first eight years of my life, I didn't have front teeth. I was pretty sick as an infant, and antibiotics rotted them," says Theron, who grew up in South Africa. Norman Jean Roy/ALLUREWhile the cute and quirky Zooey Deschanel has long been thought of as a hipster's dream, the actress swears that she's really more mainstream than we think. The star of Fox freshman hit "New Girl" and half of pop duo She & Him reveals that much of her cool quotient comes from the characters she plays. "Because I have brown hair and a low voice, I would get cast as dry, sarcastic, ironic people, which I can do, but it's just not my sense of humor," Zooey tells Allure magazine. "I'm a very positive person. I get excited easily, and I like to jump around."Read More »from ‘New Girl’ Zooey Deschanel Claims She Isn’t Cool

Michael Thompson/GQWith her pixie cut, funky style, and big smile, "sex symbol" doesn't usually describe Michelle Williams. Now, the 31-year-old gets her sexy on in print too, showing off her svelte bod in a bra and panties (with a cardigan draped over her shoulders) on the cover of the February issue of GQ, where she opens up about her late ex Heath Ledger, the couple's daughter, and more.
