Brooke Shields sits in her renovated Greenwich village town home. William Waldron/ADA native of New York City, Brooke Shields wanted to recapture her childhood — and create similar memories for her own two daughters — when she returned to the Big Apple last year for her turn in the lead role of Morticia in Broadway's "The Addams Family." Inspired by the recent sale of the Upper East Side townhouse she grew up in, the actress vowed her next home would heal the "heartbreak" she felt seeing her mother Teri's belongings ending up in a sterile storage space. "I promised myself I would give my girls the kind of richly textured urban childhood that comes with sinking roots into a real New York neighborhood," says Shields, who opened up her Greenwich Village doors to AD. "I wanted to create for them, and us, an experience of home with a layered and resonant personal history."

By Lizbeth Scordo | A-Line: Celebrity Style – Thu, Jan 26, 2012 6:21 PM ESTEveryone ends up in the kitchen, they say. Charles Sykes/USANetworkLast week, USA Network stars Matt Bomer ("White Collar") and Mark Feuerstein ("Royal Pains") hosted an intimate dinner for press at The Lion in New York City's Greenwich Village. Omg! scored an invite to the swanky soiree, where everyone toasted the season return of the two hit shows, nibbled on tuna tartar, and got to chat casually with the handsome actors. Turns out, both of them know how get their groove on.
Feuerstein, 40, who portrays hot Dr. Hank, said he first learned of the Hamptons -- the wealthy oceanfront community where "Royal Pains" takes place -- while attending the famed Dalton School in Manhattan as a teen. But it wasn't a completely high-brow childhood for Feuerstein, who revealed that he spent most of his free time as a kid hosting break dancing sessions at the temple he attended on the Upper East Side. He even made T-shirts for his crew and learned to pop and lock on cardboard boxes. Who knew the Ivy league actor (who actually attended Princeton) had a hip-hop

Vera Wang defies age in the February issue of Harper's Bazaar. Douglas Freidman/Harper’s BazaarYou probably already know that Vera Wang is a famous fashion designer, best known for her dazzling (and often outrageously expensive) bridal gowns. But you probably have no idea how old she is ... and if you had to figure it out by looking at her, your guess would probably begin with the number four.

Mario Sorrenti/WCharlize Theron may be a statuesque knockout now, but the 36-year-old reveals in the February issue of W magazine that she didn't always feel like one.
"For the first eight years of my life, I didn't have front teeth. I was pretty sick as an infant, and antibiotics rotted them," says Theron, who grew up in South Africa. "But then I started to take dance classes, and I eventually got some teeth [laughs]. When I was 16, I went to Milan to model."

Norman Jean Roy/ALLUREWhile the cute and quirky Zooey Deschanel has long been thought of as a hipster's dream, the actress swears that she's really more mainstream than we think. The star of Fox freshman hit "New Girl" and half of pop duo She & Him reveals that much of her cool quotient comes from the characters she plays. "Because I have brown hair and a low voice, I would get cast as dry, sarcastic, ironic people, which I can do, but it's just not my sense of humor," Zooey tells Allure magazine. "I'm a very positive person. I get excited easily, and I like to jump around."Michelle Williams: Meeting Heath Ledger Was ‘Cosmic’
